I did consider leaving the hardware (or most of it anyway), but since I will be renting out this house I would prefer basic, bulletproof switches that will never accidentally have their set button pressed, or miss a communication, or whatever. In the long run standard switches will be the longest lasting and require zero maintenance or service calls. Good point on updating the older switches. I'll do that for sure. I don't want to "start fresh" with some old hardware in the mix. Thanks for the ISY reset links. that's exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for the help.

Hello, I've been running my ISY 994i with Insteon, Elk, and multiple wall-mounted iPads running eKeypad. There's quite a bit of switches, sensors, etc that are very specific to my home. I'm getting ready to move and will need to start over from scratch. I was thinking that I would uninstall everything, and then upon installing each/any device at the new house I would factory reset it before linking to ISY. Of course I would need to reset ISY too. Are there any best practices for this whole scenario? How do I reset/default ISY? Will it retain the current firmware? Thanks for any help
  3. "First of all, under Settings/Connected home, you will see the ISY there." I'm curious, this is active now? I don't see that as an option in the Alexa app. I'm currently using Hub to control a small number og devices and having ISY query those devices every 10 minutes to update status when necessary. Not pretty but usable for now. Is there a direct Echo -> ISY option I'm not seeing? Thanks for your help and info.
  4. I agree. If integration is a week or two out then for sure the hub goes back. Any longer and I'll likely use the hub for now and then as soon as ISY integration is released the hub would get disconnected and put in the closet. So timeframe is really what I was most curious about. No argument that ISY will be more robust.
  5. I just ordered a Hub to experiment with alongside the ISY to have Echo access but then just found this thread stating ISY integration is pending Amazons approval. Is this something that might be live in days/weeks? If so I'll cancel the hub order for sure! Any insight on the timeframe and capabilities? Thanks everyone!
  6. Bummer. Thanks for confirming. Guess I'll be ordering more parts soon....
  7. KPL v3.6. I know its not the newest... My scenes are created with KPL button statuses as 0% and 100% based on L, M, H, and Off. And they seem to be working correctly. I also am noticing that ISY is reporting that the KPL buttons are responding correctly to the 'status' scene. However, when I look at the KPL all four fan buttons are lit. So when I turn On the Low Status scene (no fanlinc control, only buttons) in ISY, ISY shows it's working correctly. But, the KPL shows otherwise. Also, if I query the KPL in ISY it still doesn't update and show that all four buttons are lit.
  8. Here's a common scenario: 1 Fanlinc being controlled by 1 or more Keypadlincs. All works fine when creating the proper scenes (button statuses and fan speeds). But, how do you handle, controlling the Fanlinc directly and having the KPL button status's update? For example, using Mobilinc or eKeypad to control the Fanlinc directly is very clean, but then the button statuses become out of sync. I've tried creating "status" scenes for just the KPL buttons and having a program set the scene to On when the fanlinc status is low (for example) and the KPL.Low button is off (trying to prevent the program/scene from firing when not needed) but it ends up turning on all of the 4 KPL fan buttons. I hope I'm explaining this well. Thanks again for the help.
  9. Ugh, I don't believe it. I adjusted the scene in the scene settings but did not go into the controller settings and do the same. That was the problem. And every time I tested the scene through ISY it worked. And then every time I tested from the controller it didn't. Duh. Thanks for the quick reply. I have a related question but I'll start a new thread for it. Thanks again.
  10. I'm having a strange issue I haven't seen before: I have a Fanlinc v4.1 and a 6-butoon KeypadLinc v3.6. I'm using ISY994i and created scenes for fan speeds l, m, h, and off. However, when I use the KPL regardless of fan button I press (l, m, h) the fan turns on High. I believe it also happened to the Off button but I've since deleted the scenes and used programs as a work-around until I can get this figured out. If I used the On button in for the scene in ISY, say for the scene Low, it worked fine. Fan came on low. Same for all the speeds and off. But those same scenes all push the fan speed up to high when activated from the KPL. I tried deleting and recreating the scenes and even tried adding the KPL first and then tried again adding the Fanlinc first. I'm at a loss here. So, currently I am using programs to control the fan speeds. It works, but of course there is that one-second lag. I'm wondering if it's the old KPL I'm using. I'm not sure what the current version is, but 3.6 is definitely not the newest. Any ideas? Thanks!
