Hello!
This will be my first post - I am new to Insteon, the ISY, and this forum
I have spent a great deal of time installing a ton of insteon devices into my home and right now I am working on getting them dialed in through this amazing ISY hardware and software. I am 90% through my ideal KPL/Fanlinc/Mobilinc relationship setup but need your help and advice....
I like how Mobilinc controls my fan when the Fanlinc Motor is added directly to my Mobilinc Dashboard. What I can't seem to figure out on my own is the best way to have the status change update to the KPL when I have Mobilinc change the state of the fan directly - whenever I do this, the KPL becomes out of sync (the button of the last scene selected is what stays illuminated, although this is no longer the state of the Fanlinc Motor).
Here is how I chose to setup these devices:
KPL Buttons for fan control (A,B,C,D) are set to an "Always On" toggle mode, so even if you press Fan Low multiple times, the button stays lit and the fanlinc stays in the Low state. All other button control options are accomplished through scenes - here is what the scenes look like:
Scene Titled "Master Fan Low"
KPL Button A - Controller, On Level set to 100 (this is what I use for my low button)
KPL Button B - Responder, On Level set to 0 (used as med)
KPL Button C - Responder, On Level set to 0 (used as high)
KPL Button D - Responder, On Level set to 0 (used as off)
Fanlinc Motor - Set to Low
**Scene Attributes of KPL Button A (colored red in the list) has on levels for buttons B, C and D set to zero and fan motor set to low as well**
Scenes that I use for "Master Fan Med", "Master Fan High", and "Master Fan Off" are worked in the exact same fashion. I am under the impression that I need to create simple programs to maintain the state of the KPL when I ask Mobilinc to adjust speed. So...
If Status 'Master Fanlinc Motor' is Low
Then Set Scene 'Master Fan Low' On
And so on for every scene.
It took me kind of a long time to reason through this so I am wondering if I have found the right way, or the best way, to accomplish my goal.
Thanks for reading, and thanks in advance for any replies!
