  1. Hi Michael, That worked. I had been using the "Add INSTEON Device" menu option from the pull-down, but had been doing the "Auto Detect". When I specified Keypadlinc Dimmer as the device type, everything fell quickly into place - all of my KPLs have now been added. I suppose that I was "lucky" to score four of these tight-lipped V1.6 KPLs Do you know if there are any other gatchas that I can expect with the these V1.5 and V1.6 KPLs? Or, is the lack of the IDReq only significant during the initial discovery? Thanks for your help, Paul
  2. Hi Darrell, I took an inventory of every KPL I have and here is what I found: Name Address Version Added to ISY? KPL1 07.f3.e4 1.4 Success KPL2 09.8c.44 1.4 Success KPL3 0a.b3.5b 1.5 Failed KPL4 09.90.54 1.6 Failed KPL5 09.87.e5 1.6 Failed KPL6 0e.2a.4b 1.8 Success KPL7 0e.2e.9a 1.8 Success KPL8 09.9b.2b 1.4 Success KPL9 0a.df.2e 1.6 Failed KPL10 0a.df.3a 1.6 Failed So, it looks like every V1.5 and V1.6 failed while every V1.4 and V1.8 passed. Yikes! -Paul
  3. I am having problems adding *some* KPLs to my new ISY 99 (FW V2.6.5). I have about ten KPLs (V1.4 to V1. and only half of them have been successfully added. I've had no problems adding any other Insteon device (from switchLincs to in-line lincs to outletlincs). I've been selecting "New INSTEON Device" from the "LinkManagement" pull-down menu. I've moved my PLM three times to try to help the PLM see these KPLs. In one case, I've actually swapped KPLs and it seems the problem followed the KPL. At this point, I'm at a loss to solve this and need some help. What's so special about these KPLs? Here a snippet from the Event Viewer: 2008/10/16 15:38:18 : ---- Initializing the linked devices ---- 2008/10/16 15:38:18 : ---- All Linked Devices are now initialized ---- 2008/10/16 15:38:18 : ---- Add remaining devices ---- 2008/10/16 15:38:18 : [ 9 90 54 1] Removing all links 2008/10/16 15:38:19 : [ 9 90 54 1] Adding device to ISY 2008/10/16 15:38:45 : [ 9 90 54 1] ** Not Added ** Restore node Failed 2008/10/16 15:38:45 : ---- All Remaining Device Added ---- 2008/10/16 15:41:02 : ---- Initializing the linked devices ---- 2008/10/16 15:41:02 : ---- All Linked Devices are now initialized ---- 2008/10/16 15:41:02 : ---- Add remaining devices ---- 2008/10/16 15:41:02 : [ 9 87 E5 1] Removing all links 2008/10/16 15:41:04 : [ 9 87 E5 1] Adding device to ISY 2008/10/16 15:41:27 : [ 9 87 E5 1] ** Not Added ** Restore node Failed 2008/10/16 15:41:27 : ---- All Remaining Device Added ---- I figure "Restore node Failed" is important, but I have no idea what that means. Any ideas? Thanks, Paul
