  1. This issue doesn't appear to be related to moving to v5.0.14 but rather I had grouped the KPL buttons under the KPL light in the ISY UI. HASS uses the PyISY library to communicate with the ISY and there is a limitation that PyISY doesn't handle nodes who parents are another node. Their is an enhancement request that's been open since 2015 so the simple fix is not to use the "Group Devices" option for KPL or other devices within ISY.
  2. The keypadbuttons worked in Home Assistant when my ISY firmware was v4. Upgraded to v5.0.14 and they stopped being imported to the ISY. Traced the issue to the way that PyISY handles child nodes (the keypadbuttons are children of the keypaddimmer). Believe the _categorize_nodes method in isy994.py needs to be modified to navigate the node children for import to work. As I don't believe Home Assistant leverages the child node structure I worked around the issues by commenting out lines 180-183 of PyISY/Nodes/init.py. # try: # nparent = feature.getElementsByTagName('parent')[0] \ # .firstChild.toxml() # except IndexError: You can track the issue here: https://github.com/home-assistant/home-assistant/issues/19076
  3. I don’t have a Google Home so Home Control doesn’t show up in the Home app on my Android phone (Nexus 6p running Nougat 7.1.2). However I discovered you can add ISY through the Home Control in the Google Assistant settings menu. I’ve had Amazon Echo integration running since it was first released. Although I’ve only just started to use Google Assistant Home Control it rocks compared to Alexa. Alexa is very literal so I needed to add several synonyms in the ISY portal to deal with things like “light” or “lights”. Assistant on the other hand can handle much more imprecise input as well as dynamically grouping devices based on common words. I have several different sconces (living room, bedroom, etc) and when I give the command to turn on the sconces is turns them all on. Also as previously reported response time is very fast. I have the Google Assistant SDK running on a Raspberry Pi. Haven’t been using it since I originally set it up but now that ISY integration is working I’m going to go back and hopefully start using it for home control rather than AlexaPi. I’m also thinking about buying a Google Home to replace at least one of my Echos. Really appreciate the work on this and ongoing investment by the UD folks.
  4. @builderb - I've been thinking about doing the same thing with Raspi. Can you share more specifics on how you built this and what code you're using on the rpi to update the ISY variable? Thanks, Steve
  5. @MWareman - Sounds like a similar issue that I've been having. Assuming that the Echo is connecting to your ISY through the ISY Portal the issue may be that the ISY Portal is loosing connectivity to your ISY. Rebooting the ISY seems to fix the issue for now.
  6. I lost connectivity from the portal again. Same symptoms - portal shows ISY offline but ISY shows it's connected to the portal. A reboot of the ISY resolved the issue. I'm running v4.5.1 firmware. Thanks - Steve
  7. I just ran into this issue with my ISY going offline form the portal on Friday. I was able to access the portal and also the ISY from my network. The ISY console showed the portal as being online from the network tab. A reboot of the ISY resolved the portal connectivity issue. Feature request - will be nice if the portal could send an email or notification when the ISY goes offline. Discovered this when my Alexa Echo integration stopped working today and spent a bit of time chasing my tail to figure it out. One "benefit" is I discovered that I needed to upgrade to the v2 of the Alexa skill.
  8. I just purchased and installed one. I'm very impressed with it. As I haven't had it very long here are a few of my initial thoughts: - Not too worried about how it is mounted. If stolen Ring will replace it for free provided you file a police report. - There are apps for IOS, Android and Windows 10. Particularly like the Windows 10 app as I have a home office on the other side of the house and can easily see who is at the door - In addition to doorbell button it also has a motion sensor. I'm still adjusting the sensitivity but optimistic. This should be great for when know that a package has been delivered (they often don't ring the bell) - It integrates with your existing doorbell. As far as home automation integration Ring has some partners that they can connect directly with through their app (Wink, Wemo and some locks). I haven't used this so not sure how well it works. Alternatively I'm in the process of setting up the motion from Ring to turn on my outside lights. I'll do this through IFTTT integration with the ISY Portal and Ring.
