  1. Hello, still a newbie with no real programming experience. Is there a good guide for helping someone even begin to understand variables? The UDI wiki still assumes a level of experience. I need a variables for dummies version. I have built scenes and programs involving notifications. I am ready to get to the next level but am having trouble making the leap. For example, I have a program that monitors doors via "or" statements and alerts me if any are opened. I now want the system to tell me which door has been opened. I also want lights to turn off when the house is unoccupied, etc. Thanks much.
  2. Okay. Thanks
  3. Thank you for responding. I actually want the mini remote switch to control whether the program is active or not. Basically trying to find easy way for my wife to switch on the alert that a door is open. Would "or" work in that instance?
  4. All, still new to ISY and am working well with basic if/then programs, such as if a door is opened, I get a text. However, I tried to add a mini remote into the program, so I could control when the program would be "armed." Program content in the If section is: Control 'switch' is switched on, followed by, And Control 'door' is switched on. The program seems to ignore whether the switch is on or off. Any ideas? I am trying to understand variables, as I read that they can help in these situations. Is that true? Thanks
