  1. Thanks both - that worked to get the ISY working again. The program threw an error saying that the PLM was probably not reachable. Absolute Automation claims to have the PLM in stock - I just sent them a query to verify. Brian - are the threads on this forum or elsewhere? Thanks
  2. Thanks for your quick reply; Java is Oracle Java 1.8.0_431-b10 which should be the latest and is the same version as used last night. Already tried cleaning contacts - no change; no light on PLM - that's why I assumed it died. After downloading new copy of JNLP, it now launches (to a new address 192.168.1.96) and gives me a box as shown, but not sure whatto do form there. Thanks
  3. This is a fairly old unit (2014)which has been working great for years with a bunch of Insteon devices. Last night, I logged in successfully (been some weeks/months) and after logging in, got a whole series of messages about not being able to reach (all) devices. I took this to be a sign the Insteon 2413S PLM had died. However, I was unable to exit the program so I killed the process via Task Mangler. I cycled power on the PLM & the ISY, but when I tried to login I get 2 error messages (before getting the login prompt): Socket Open failed javanet Socket Timeout Exception XML Parse error http://192.168.1.80:80/desc (IP is that of ISY994i) Power & RCV lights are on initially, all others off; eventually RCV goes out and only Power is lit. The ISY (192.168.1.80) pings from a computer on the same subnet. Attempting to web into 192.168.1.80:80/desc from Chrome gets a 'Refused to connect'. Looking at the end of the log file on the uSD showed a whole bunch of errors at the end of the file (presumably the PLM unable to connect to devices). I was looking in the manual about how to reload the firmware on the SD card (page 78) but the web page they tell you to log into to get the procedures (universal-devices.com/994i) no longer exists. The last file that I have seems to be insteon_5.0.15A.zip; all of my most recent backups (although the newest date from 2020) begin with ISY-Backup.v5.0.15A_[DayDateTime].zip Trying to decide whether to try to get the ISY back on line and then spend $80 for a new PLM or go to a newer platform. Suggestions?? Thanks Al
  4. I've been trying to troubleshoot an intermittent issue with RemoteLincs and a garage door system (like some others), and I was looking at the Tools > Diagnostics > Event Viewer log and there appears to be a ton of info there. The ISG994i Guide section dealing with Event Viewer is pretty pathetic in terms of explanations. Is there anything to help decode what the various entries mean? Thanks, Al e.g. 2E.9E.B5-1 is my Left Garage button from my RemoteLinc (8-Button No Toggle) 31.6E.A6-2 is the Garage Left IoLinc Relay Tue 02/24/2015 05:36:31 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 2E.9E.B5 00.00.01 CB 13 00 LTOFFRR(00) Tue 02/24/2015 05:36:31 PM : [std-Group ] 2E.9E.B5-->Group=1, Max Hops=3, Hops Left=2 Tue 02/24/2015 05:36:31 PM : [D2D EVENT ] Event [2E 9E B5 1] [DOF] [0] uom=0 prec=-1 Tue 02/24/2015 05:36:31 PM : [ 2E 9E B5 1] DOF 0 Tue 02/24/2015 05:36:31 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 2E.9E.B5 00.00.01 C7 13 00 LTOFFRR(00) Tue 02/24/2015 05:36:31 PM : [std-Group ] 2E.9E.B5-->Group=1, Max Hops=3, Hops Left=1 Tue 02/24/2015 05:36:31 PM : [iNST-DUP ] Previous message ignored. 5. I have tried repeatedly to set an 8 button Remotelinc 2242 V1.5S to non-toggle mode from the ISY. It never seems to "take" and always stays as On/Off Toggle. ISY also erases the name previously given to the Remotelinc and changes it back to its address. Using the method shown in the RemoteLinc's manual worked fine. Anybody seen this before?
  6. Stusviews: Thanks so much for your quick reply. I set up as you described and it works like a charm;! Slowly learning with help from others like yourself! Al
  7. Simple (I think) Garage door application - but having trouble getting what I want: Equipment: - ISY994i - IoLinc controller 2450 - Normally Open (NO) magnetic contacts - 2334-2 8-key Keypad Dimmer Switch (KPL) What I want: - If door is open (IoLinc sensor status=ON), light Button "C" on KPL - If I push Button "C" on controller, have IoLinc relay do a momentary close; trigger door like the momentary switch associated with the garage door opener IoLinc relay is set to Momentary B - Have KPL ONLY reflect the status of the IoLinc Sensor (ON/lit= open, OFF/dark=closed) Scenes - - Garage Status - IoLinc sensor as controller - KPL "C" as Responder - Garage Control - KPL "C" as controller - IoLinc Relay as Responder The problem: Everything works fine until I press KPL "C" to activate the door. If the switch was previously OFF the KPL C light comes on and stays on regardless of the status of the IoLinc Sensor. Similarly, if the KPL "C" was on, the switch indicator light goes OFF regardless of the sensor. What I've tried - 2 simple scenes don't seem to work; one for status and one for control. - Tried a program to set Keypad "C" according to status of IoLinc sensor (see attachment) Any suggestions? This seems like such a common-place scenario that I'd think it should be a FAQ/tutorial. I've read a bunch of posts about doors and what not, but not seen this scenario before. Thanks for any help, Al
