  1. Wow....lots of responses! Teken - those lever nuts look ingenious. Now to find out where I can buy them (I'm in Canada).... If I get around to it one of these days I'll have to rig something up and reset them one by one (I only have 30 to do ) Really appreciate all of the responses. I seemed to have touched on a topic that a lot of people have encountered. The electrician who is wiring my house seems to know his stuff well. I'm not sure if he's done Insteon switches in the past but he's had a lot of experience with the Lutron products. I already made him aware of my proposed Insteon setup before the house was even wired.
  2. This is an intriguing option. I'm fairly handy with electrical wiring. Any suggestions on how one would setup a temporary rig to get power to each switch?
  3. I am in the middle of a new home build and I have removed all of my old Insteon devices (primarily switchlinc dimmers) from the previous house. The only thing I really did before I disconnected everything in the old house was remove all of the devices from the ISY. I never actually reset the Insteon devices or the ISY. My question and wonderabout here is what happens when my electrician wires in all of my existing ISY switchlinc dimmers in the new house? Will they still operate as a standard dimmer switch to the load that they are wired to, without having the ISY hooked in yet? I won't be able to get into the house and install the ISY until the possession date, but obviously I need to have functional light switches in the house. I think I will be fine, but I'd like some others on here to chime in with their thoughts. Thanks.
  4. Great to hear - the sooner the better. Thanks for the response.
  5. Any updates in this area? I'm loving my ISY but it's so very hard to use the Java interface on a 4K monitor.
  6. Problem solved. Setting the ramp rates to 8 minutes worked as it should. Thanks again for the tip.
  7. Ahhhhh....good to know. It would have taken me forever to stumble across that! I'll give it a try later tonight and post back. Thanks LeeG.
  8. I've been doing a little digging around the forums and have found a lot of information regarding setting ramp rates in scenes vs. local ramp rates, and I thought I had it figured out. I have the following program that turns on some outside lights before sunset every day, and what I am attempting to do is set the ramp rates to 9 minutes for both lights, but am not seeing the intended results. Whenever the program runs, the lights come on at the ramp rate that is set for the local ramp rate, even though the program seems to be setting the ramp rates properly in the "Outside Lights" scene I have setup. Here's the program: On At Sunset - [iD 0006][Parent 0004] If Time is Sunset - 39 minutes Then In Scene 'Outside Lights' Set 'Keypadlinc.FD.Ext Recessed' 9.0 Min (Ramp Rate) In Scene 'Outside Lights' Set 'Front Garage Sconces' 9.0 Min (Ramp Rate) Set Scene 'Outside Lights' On Send Notification to 'SMS' content 'Outside Lights' Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Any obvious errors here that I might be making???
  9. Thank you everyone for the quick replies. chrishick, I was so busy trying to come up with everything in one program that I didn't even think of the option of having 2 programs. I guess I'm used to writing all functions into one "program" that it didn't even cross my mind. Speaking of programs, how many programs can one realistically have on the ISY994 before you run into issues??? I'll setup 2 programs - one for turning the outside lights on and one for turning them off. Much more logical. oberkc, you are right that there is nothing in the program I posted that would turn the lights off at a certain time....I was just posting that program to help describe my question but good catch..... I clearly don't quite have the grasp yet of this amazing little device.
  10. Here's the program: On At Sunset - [iD 0006][Parent 0004] If From Sunset To Sunrise - 4 hours and 30 minutes (next day) Then Set 'Keypadlinc.FD.Ext Recessed' On Send Notification to 'SMS' Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Thanks.
  11. Hello all, New ISY user here. I've had my setup up and running for about a week, so far so good (even got my Hue lights setup to operate!) I have a simple program setup to turn on my outside lights on a Keypadlinc between sunset and a few hours before sunrise. However, I just realized that when I go to manually turn off the lights during a time when the program is active, it will automatically re-run again and turn the lights back on. What am I missing to add the option so that when I manually hit the "off" button on the Keypadlinc it will override the program and the lights stay off??? Thanks in advance.
