  1. Wow, so it doesn't look like this?: Straight on is fine:
  2. I'm wondering if I got a bad Thermostat or if this is normal behavior. I just bought the 2441TH and got it installed last night but was really surprised by how bad the viewing angle is on it. The thermostat is mounted considerably below eye level (about mid-chest height) and completely unreadable unless you look directly at it on the same plane (at eye level). Any other angle other than straight on seems unusable. Also, when I push any of the buttons OR anywhere around the plastic bezel around the LCD I notice that the LCD distorts (for lack of a better word), meaning other elements that are not active on the LCD start showing up for a brief second. This seems poorly designed. Any idea if this is normal or should I send it back? TIA.
  3. Never mind, I forgot to hit the set button after setting the local on level. Sorry for the confusion.
  4. Need some more help again on this subject. I ended up purchasing a bunch of dual-band KPL's to upgrade my system but I think they might be a step backward. It looks like (as far as I can tell) a double press on these are no longer a "Fast On", it seems like it now resets the on level to 100% no matter what. Can anyone confirm this and maybe provide a workaround? I really want to be able to have two settings: single-tap = 40%, double-tap = 100%. TIA, Kevin
  5. Barry, your tool is great...thanks again for creating something so useful. With regards to scene dimming: since the ISY (and insteon) do not support direct dimming of scenes would it make sense to add just the devices in a scene (instead of the scene itself) and give these some dummy name that you would never use? Then create & add these to a group with the friendly name on the echo.
  6. Barry, I'm getting the same error. I sent you a screenshot & the log file. Thx
  7. Ok, the first time I ran it I got: 780, but the next 10 times I got: 502. So it looks like I have plenty of room available to add new devices. Couple more questions: 1) are there any other limitations I should be aware of (other than the ISY PRO 1024 device limit, 1000 program limit & the PLM 992 link limit)? 2) what creates links on the PLM? (Is it just new devices & scenes?) 3) are there any issues if you get close to the PLM link limit? (ie performance, strange behavior, etc) 4) are there any dangers/concerns about doing a PLM restore? (I'm always weary of doing any kind of 'restore' for fear of wiping stuff out, etc) Thanks again in advance, Kevin
  8. What about the PLM, isn't it a lot more limited? And if so what's the easiest way to determine if your approaching these limits?
  9. I've looked for this on the forum but wasn't able to find a concise answer (sorry if this has been discussed before). I have a bunch of insteon devices and am concerned about hitting the limits of either the PLM or ISY with regards to number of devices if I add more. What is the easiest way to determine how many more devices/nodes you can add at any given time? Thanks, Kevin
  10. Ok, makes sense...thanks again.
  11. Ok, that worked & was an easy fix...thank you! One last question: it was my understanding that with the ISY you should never make changes on the local switch, only in the ISY. Is this rule just for links/scenes?
  12. So this setting can only be changed on the actual KeypadLinc (not in the ISY)?
  13. I'm having an issue with an 8-button KeypadLinc controlling the main light in my master bedroom. I've set the On-Level to 40% on my ISY-994i. If I click the Main (Load) button once it works as expected and brings the light level up to 40%. But as soon as I change this setting directly on the KeypadLinc (either by double clicking for a fast on to 100% or dimming to a different value) it no longer respects the On-Level set on the ISY-994i on subsequent single presses. Instead it goes to whatever the last value was. My desire is to have 2 settings: one for single presses (40% level) and one for double presses (100% level). Is this not possible? Thanks in advance for any assistance, Kevin
