At this point, I am convinced that the problem is in fact some issue with the UniFi router, causing it to block traffic that the ISY needs, just not sure why it is intermittent. What I did as a workaround is to connect the ISY to a lan port of a 5G Internet box that I use for back up Internet. It seems to be happy with that since I can once again use Alexa commands to control my dimmers with no issues. previous router was PfSense. So far I have had no luck in tracking down what setting on the UniFi router it is that is causing the issue.

This is a strange one, please bear with me. ISY 994i controlling about a dozen lights using old Insteon dimmers. I recently changed my router to a ubiquity UniFi gateway (UXG-MAX) and have been having strange issues with the ISY ever since. If I log into the device locally using my PC, I can see and control all dimmers with no problems. However, if I try to control the lights with Alexa commands, Alexa will say sorry the hub for that device is not responding. On my phone, from the UD mobile app, i get message: :ISY is now online, then ISY is now offline, these messages will pop up on average, staying online for about five minutes, then going off-line for 30 to 60 minutes. When the device is shown as online, it will respond to an Alexa voice command, in other words, Alexa will change the dimmer setting as requested, but then Alexa follows up by saying “sorry, the device is not responding” even though it has responded. I have tried both static IP and DHCP, problem exists either way. Over the years, I have used the ISY with quite a few different routers And have never had an issue like this one.

Thanks for that. I get CONTROL, testing for CONTROL ON senses button presses of my non-toggle ON buttons. I don't understand SENSE, though, I don't see SENSE in the drop-down for conditions.

I am a newbie at ISY programming, and to be honest I'm finding it to be quite different than what I expected, but I'm slowly finding my way. I have a KeypadLinc that I want to be able to use as 7 general purpose buttons and 7 general purpose indicator lights. I have defined a scene for each light such that I can turn each button light on or off by turning the corresponding button light scene on or off. So, I am good as far as the lights. I have the buttons configured for non-toggle ON mode. I have a scene defined for each button where the corresponding button press turns on that scene. The intent was to create programs like: if button-scene B is on then do whatever button B is supposed to do turn button scene B off My confusion is how to detect a button press in a program. I don't see an option to set a program condition as "IF SCENE XXX IS ON" for example. All assistance will be most appreciated.
