  1. I am having flashbacks of the insteon shutdown. It started just like this. I am hoping this is not the same
  2. They must know.
  3. Seems like ud is down
  4. Interesting, I wonder if that is what is going on. I have some ports open, not for the ISY but for Cameras on the network. It might explain why the device just stops responding on the network though it appears to still be running. Did anything show up in the log when this happened?
  5. I do have a ticket open, and we're plodding through it, but in the meantime, I was trying to determine when it goes offline. The Logs don't give any indication because they don't indicate any error. The network is up and running without problem, the device just doesn't answer at some point. It still passes traffic on insteon, it doesn't indicate any errors with the lights, and the network port is lit and blinking. Just no answer until I restart it. It's not even DHCP renewal time and there is already a static entry in the table for the device. ISY 994i zw 5.3.4
  6. Does anyone have a good way to determine when/if their ISY goes offline? Clearly if it's down, it can't tell me that. And I have a way to check if my home network is down, but lately my ISY fails everyday and I need to determine when it's offline. I thought the ISY portal would be a good place to have that feature, but I want to be notified that it's offline and not have to keep checking. Perhaps something with an IFTTT hook?
  7. Thank you. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything obvious that someone else had experience with.
  8. Tried a new card, Couldn't even get the ISY to get an IIP address. The log only shows the errors on boot. It doesn't log any errors when it seems to crash. I can see it's still getting insteon traffic and network traffic, but it's totally unresponsive.
  9. Did anyone get this: E-Notice Service April 21, 2022 Insteon Users: Important Notice to Creditors DISCLAIMER: Please do not reply to this e-mail. 10. Liquidation of assets is what it sounds like. Someone still is there who has access to the website and is keeping that up. The senior leadership is hiding. That "Important Message" didn't replace the home page, they are still keeping the rest of the marketing goop up. Why? Perhaps they are still hoping they'll turn the lights back on?
  11. Does a hub out of the box act like a repeater? That was kind of the insteon(off) idea. I have an older hub from the time I was a beta tester, and they gave me a newer Hub. $250 sounds good. It's weird that the exact device that no longer works as advertised is now more popular. Wow. If I ever become a CEO, You guys remind me to be a decent human being. (Remember Caeser, thou art mortal) This makes me wonder, If this company is defunct, then who holds the intellectual assets? Richman Capital Partners?
  12. I saw that but, I couldn't cross reference the error codes. I also saw some logging after that so I thought it was not related. I thought the front panel would indicate if it locked up from SD errors. I'll try what you recommend. Thank you.
  13. Every few hours my isy loses network connectivity. Local and portal. The ISY itself doesn't show any errors. Link lights are good and blinking, but it no longer responds to any attempt to connect to it at it's IP address. The Router has a reservation assigned for the IP. Nothing else is using the IP, and a power cycle of the ISY brings it right back to the IP it was. There are no notes in the error log, it's like it just stops running. v 5.3.0 It's usually about 4 hours or so. Log attached. ISY Error Log.v5.3.0__Mon 2022.04.18 21.29.08.txt
  14. eBay is cavet emptor. As long as you don't warranty it and you didn't make it intentionally harmful, people sell modified items all the time.
  15. Why are we saving a hub? I'll sell you mine....
  16. You can use the ISY that universal devices sells to bring back most and more functionality. That is the route I am going. Backwards compatibility is unlikely if someone buys the assets of insteon. In my opinion, since they made no attempt to save the customer base before pulling the plugs. (Pun intended)
  17. Thank you. Yeah, my ip for the gateway changes everyday, because I have to reboot it everyday to keep it running. But I am done paying $100 a month for internet, and this is only $25 a month. A factory reset for the ISY might be good for me to relearn how to do things and get rid of some of the old scenes that were on there.
  18. I have that. But I recently changed my gateway to a cellular one, and my ISY no longer shows. I will have to reset the ISY and rebuild. Now with the idea that it will be the primary controller. I can use my old hub for target practice. Some modules are not compatible with ISY, so I have lost those forever, and I'll have to write scripts and try and recreate the notifications for my smoke bridge, and water detector. I have no problem paying that reasonable fee if it helps keep this company afloat. Hopefully they won't leave me behind. I see that now. I never tried to buy anything but Insteon. I wonder what they did with all the old stock. Well perhaps when I get my ISY up and running. I was a beta tester for a while for insteon, I thought there was hope, but when the new app came out and the nokia rumors swirled, I could see it wasn't good. I don't have a history of picking the winners though. RIP Stringify Guardzilla Insteon
  19. Yes, Saw those threads. But nothing official from the company itself. No notice to it's users. They did take the items out of stock from the Smarthome.com store, but it's still a featured brand.
  20. I can't imagine how you can just shutter a company overnight and not even bother to launch an email or put a message on your home page to all your customers.
  21. I had bought an ISY a long time ago and never really took advantage of it's capabilities. Now I am diving into that system and trying to make it work. They have an app and it appears I can restore most of my functionality. Just wondering if I have to get the subscription or can I set it up without one myself and still get the benefits. I guess though the camera's won't work anymore.
