  1. Got it, added the non-IR device
  2. Interesting; when I configure a button, select the Universal Device Light device, there are no commands?
  3. Thanks. I keep bumping up against polygot. May have to bite the bullet and learn it.
  4. So further searching it looks like the use of the "Universal Devices Light" device on the harmony is what I'm looking for. I have the Harmony Elite and I don't see a Universal Devices Light device.
  5. I realize that the Harmony does not have ISY commands integrated as in; you cannot add an ISY device to the remote. I have the infrared version of the ISY so know that it can receive IR commands. What I can't figure out is without adding a device to the remote how do I send IR commands? Simple stuff like turn a light off when the play button is pressed. I've never used the IR component of the ISY so am really quite lost. thanks for the help!
  6. Thanks for the detailed response. I think I’ll hold off for now until I have a clear runway to dive into it. Unfortunately there’s a ton going on at the moment and working through an upgrade at the moment would be frustration, not enjoyment. I guess I’ll have to revert to the Stone Age and use the light switches for now
  7. I appreciate your feedback. I’ve been tossing almost weekly on whether to move to V5 - it’s the thought of reprogramming years of fine tuning that’s kept me away. How was you experience programming the Zwave sensor on ISY? I’ll check them out and thanks again.
  8. For what it's worth I'm feeling your pain. I'm still on version 4.x for the simple fact that 5.x has been in beta for longer than I can remember - will they ever move it into production? I've been trying to even link mine for well over 3 hours. A very frustrating experience to say the least. I managed to get one working but the device settings are completely unresponsive. A pretty useless device at this point if you can't even control the timeout. Argh!
  9. I've been using the first version of the motion sensors for a few years now. Both batteries went out at the same time and when I replaced them, both wires that connect to the 9V ripped off. I've since bought two of the new version II. Config went okay and they're both successfully operating the lights like previously. The issue I'm having is the settings on the sensors aren't working. I recall with the old sensors I could never get the timeout to work. No matter what I set it would always turn off after 30 seconds. So I set the sensor to "on commands only" and setup a program to wait 5 minutes before turning the light off. This worked but I cannot for the life of me get it to work with the new sensors. It seems as though the settings are not taking effect, specifically the setting to "on commands only". Anyone experiencing something similar?
  10. Is V5 ready for consumption? I’ve been thinking about it but I have things running so well - while learning to live with the quirks.
  11. I’ve found that the perfect temperature for the house is 22.5 C and the furnace set to come on when it drops half a degree. Problem is you can’t set a variable to a fraction. Only way I can think to overcome this is to multiply by 10 somehow. Is this possible?
  12. Gotcha, really need to stop avoiding REST.
  13. Thanks for the advice. I’ll look at these vendors but was really hopping for ISY integration. Also looking for something I can source and install myself - I believe Axis requires that they be installed professionally.
  14. I have a ton of 16awg copper throughout the house, originally installed for a traditional security system. I would like to start placing cameras around the house but don’t have 110v where I’d like to place them. I’m wondering how long a run can the power be to these cameras? Thought being to use the existing copper and plug the transformers in at the Home run location in the mechanical room. Some of those copper runs could be as long as 75ft. Sounds like a great idea but I’m sure there will be power loss on a run that long. Hopping someone has some thoughts to share.
  15. You lost me at code and log
  16. A double tap is seen as a quick on correct? This is a great discovery, really opens up the options.
  17. Sorry, one more question. So I now understand the difference between non toggle on and non toggle off but what is the difference between non toggle on and toggle?
  18. Thank you. To clarify the only way to use a program to turn off the button is to put the button into a scene all by its lonesome correct?
  19. Thanks for the explanation. I am a little confused about the ON and OFF buttons on a 6 button KPL and how they interact with a scene. The only button I’ve put in the scene is A so I assume the ON and OFF buttons should not impact it at all. There are a variety of dimmer and straight on/off devices in the scene.
  20. Appreciate all of the feedback. I've been playing with non-toggle Off so that the button would turn off after the program has run. I'll try non-toggle On and create a scene with only the button in question to turn it off afterwards. I'll upload a shot of the program when I'm back home in a couple of days.2 I'll run through the restoring of the devices. It is strange as the on levels of each device in the program are set to 0. If I turn the scene on some of the devices actually turn on instead of off. If I set the on levels of the devices to 100 then set the scene to off when the button is pressed, should this work? Reason I'd prefer the scene is it's a lot quicker than turning everything off individually via program. I'll give this a shot. Curious about the double tap logic, can you elaborate?
  21. Interesting that you ask. It is the 6 button - on/off and 4 lettered buttons installed as a replacement to a wall switch, but ISY identifies it as a "5-button .....". I have another identical unit but it is identified as a 6 button. Maybe that is part of the problem?
  22. I am defeated. After days of messing about I cannot get the desired outcome. I have a 5 button controller in the master that I would like to control a scene and trigger a couple of events. The scene is simple, turn off all devices. After which I would like a program to change the on level for a lamp and send a command to the thermostat. I would also like the button that I pressed to turn off. Right now I have the scene setup with an on level of 0 for all devices and button A as the transponder. When I press A only 3 of the 5 devices in the scene turn off, the other 2 actually turn on and the A button remains lit. The additional commands outside of the scene work great. So, I have tried everything that I can think of to get the scene itself to turn all devices off but nothing. Focusing on the A button remaining on, I have played with the toggle state. Setting the A button to toggle off - off triggers the scene but does not execute the remaining commands in the program, presumably because they are not a part of the scene and are only triggered when the state of the button changes. As the button is set to toggle off it is not changing the state. I have tried taking all of the devices out of the scene and turning them off through the program but that is slow and does not work when the button is set to toggle off. Lost at this point.
  23. That would be real helpful Jimbo. Thanks!
  24. That's their fancy way of saying button. What I can't determine is if the original button will still work. I'll give Genie a shout in the morning.
