  1. Thanks Larry, should there be lights on the switch though, even without programming? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Gotcha, quite the battle on my hands here. So, I have tied in the black wire from the 3 wire cable in the 2-gang and have confirmed that the line and neutral are connected properly at the single gang (at least from what I can tell). Unfortunately the same outcome, light works fine from the double gang but no life at the single.
  3. I appreciate the quick response Stu. I've wired as suggested and am left with a black load line on the 2-gang that is not connected to anything. I assume I cap this line? Just turned the breaker on and the light is working but only from the line box (2-gang), the single switch has no LEDs and does not operate the light. To confirm I have connected the line (black), neutral (white) and ground; I have left the load from the instead and the red wire in the gang capped off. Because it never hurts to have pictures ....
  4. Looking for some guidance on the setup of a 3-way light. I'm pretty sure I've nailed down what wire is what but am not sure how to connect my Insteon switch at each location. My desire is to install a 5 button controller in the load box with an on/off in the line box. I have attached pictures of both in hopes that someone can direct me. Installing a single switch is relatively straight forward but I'm lost when it comes to 3-way. The switch in the load box that i will be replacing is the one on the right (or top, sorry for the orientation).
  5. I'm using a state variable. Test notifications work and everything in the program works as expected by manually changing the state of the variable, except the notification. Strange. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Gotcha. Setting have now been changed to use google servers, even got the dual factor auth to work properly in that "test" messages are being sent. Still not seeing an alert when the program is run however. I'll keep mucking about to see if I can figure this out.
  7. Will give it a shot, thanks Teken
  8. Anyone experiencing problems with their alerts? My SMTP settings are configured to use default. I have setup a single recipient to a text address and call the alert within a very simple single condition program. The program action works as the scene is being called correctly however; the alert is not firing. I know that the address is correct and when I use the "test" button a test message is being received. Not sure where to go from here. Attached is a screen shot of the simple program and a screen shot of the configuration, any help is appreciated.
  9. I knew it was too simple an "issue", almost embarrassed to let you all in on the resolution. I was creating the scene from my iPhone; to small a screen to realize I was setting the current state not the on state. yikes.
  10. Hey everyone, this is going to sound very trivial I'm sure but I'm struggling with the logic around scenes. The programming is coming along because it makes logical sense to me, scenes however are a different story. I have setup a very simple scene "All lights off' with 3 switches as responders. I would like that scene to be called by a program however; when I set the switches at 0% without a controller in the scene itself, all lights go out. I am missing something so simple, just can't figure it out.
  11. Looks like a difference in behaviour when using a switched on event vs. state on. Thanks LeeG.
  12. I'm new to Insteon, that will be quite evident in a minute. I'm playing around to understand the protocol and how it all works with ISY. I am wanting to setup a simple light on when motion is detected but only during certain times. Setting up a scene is very straight forward but simplistic in that the light will always go on with motion. I am playing with a program but do the devices have to be linked with a scene first or with the authority for one device to control another be managed through the program? A very simple routine but I can't seem to get the program to function.
