Using a program such as Interwarn, you can set it to forward weather warnings to a mail address. I use this now to send severe weather warnings to my cell phone. It has access to all NWS products. And it makes a loud warning sound when you choose the type of bulletin received. How would you consider using this information with the ISY? Shutting down everything in the house or sending a signal to the main breaker to turn it off? A warning throughout the house via speakers? Just curious.

Hello Rand, Everything seems fine this morning; programs appear, PLM shows up normal and it's working. The ramp rates and dim levels look ok also, but I haven't checked them all. Maybe it tooks some time for the java programming to get all of the data there. So far, so good. -Larry

I put a 2 gig Sd card in and got it working with 2.7.9 firmware and the second newest backup. However, the states of each scene are defaulted to the shortest on leveland longest ramp rate. And none of my program restored; or else there is a problem as an error box says "Request failed". Do I ask for an RMA yet? Thank you. Another update: a program executed on time. But I can't see the programs. Further update: the next morning, all programs appear.

Hi Michel, I took it apart, unplugged the SD card and plugged it back in. When I tried to load the firmware, the message said that "Upgrade Failed: ISY Refused Program Update." This was the 2.77 release. Another error box said "socket open failed java.lang.nullpointerexception" Can I put an SD card in of my own and try the firmware upgrade?

Just noticed that the mem light blinked very fast and I couldn't get into the ISY-99. Pulled the plug to the ethernet and PLM and plugged them back in. Now, a single light (power) and when I call up the ISY, I get the web page but this is what I get when I try the admin console: Java Plug-in 1.6.0_18 Using JRE version 1.6.0_18-b07 Java HotSpot Client VM User home directory = C:\Users\Larry_Lovering ---------------------------------------------------- c: clear console window f: finalize objects on finalization queue g: garbage collect h: display this help message l: dump classloader list m: print memory usage o: trigger logging q: hide console r: reload policy configuration s: dump system and deployment properties t: dump thread list v: dump thread stack x: clear classloader cache 0-5: set trace level to ---------------------------------------------------- load: class com.universaldevices.client.ui.UDClientApplet.class not found. java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.universaldevices.client.ui.UDClientApplet.class at sun.plugin2.applet.Applet2ClassLoader.findClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Plugin2ClassLoader.loadCode(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Plugin2Manager.createApplet(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Plugin2Manager$AppletExecutionRunnable.run(Unknown Source) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source) Caused by: java.io.IOException: open HTTP connection failed:http://192.168.1.135/com/universaldevices/client/ui/UDClientApplet/class.class at sun.plugin2.applet.Applet2ClassLoader.getBytes(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Applet2ClassLoader.access$000(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Applet2ClassLoader$1.run(Unknown Source) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) ... 7 more Exception: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.universaldevices.client.ui.UDClientApplet.class load: class com.universaldevices.client.ui.UDClientApplet.class not found. java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.universaldevices.client.ui.UDClientApplet.class at sun.plugin2.applet.Applet2ClassLoader.findClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Plugin2ClassLoader.loadCode(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Plugin2Manager.createApplet(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Plugin2Manager$AppletExecutionRunnable.run(Unknown Source) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source) Caused by: java.io.IOException: open HTTP connection failed:http://192.168.1.135/com/universaldevices/client/ui/UDClientApplet/class.class at sun.plugin2.applet.Applet2ClassLoader.getBytes(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Applet2ClassLoader.access$000(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Applet2ClassLoader$1.run(Unknown Source) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) ... 7 more Exception: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.universaldevices.client.ui.UDClientApplet.class On the web page, only one device is shown; where there is over 20. Update: clicked My ISY on the front of the UD web site, got into the Admin console, only one device there; I tried to restore a backup and got an error: Could not clear configuration in ISY My Lighting. -Larry

I received this a few times adding a responder to a keypad. Why?
-
Yes, I already have two scenes in the ISY that use the Control Linc's keys. [scene name] linc1:key1 master bedroom:side lights The LampLinc that the side lights are connected to are what is giving me the error.
-
I added a Control Linc and I believe asked it to keep the scenes in it. But it came up blank, no problem, I'll add a scene. But when adding the lamp to the scene, I got an error -200000 Failed to add device to scene. Why?
-
That did it! Thanks, Rand. -Larry

I've set up the mail server I use from my ISP on port 25 and get a message [-50010] Mail server DNS error [null]. I also get a DNS error on synchronize now for the NTP server. The ISY has a static IP and is connected to the router. What can I do to fix this?
-
I did do that, and I believe it still doesn't see the Control-Linc. I do not see the box that it is updating. And there is no list for the control-linc keys in the network list.

I tried to follow the instructions in the wiki, but when I click link management\link a control linc, I am given not the box in the wiki illustration about holing down button one, but a box that asks for the address and link behavior. I tried to put in the address, but I don't see the links from the control linc. Am I doing something wrong?

I'm new to the ISY and would like to know if this is a good way to program. I wanted to use the A-D buttons on a Keypadlinc to turn on an X10 floodlight for various times then shut off; e.g. 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 30 minutes and 1 hour. Each program looks to the keypadlinc button (named time05, time10, etc.) to begin the program: If control time05 ON then send X10 'o2' on Wait 5 minutes send X10 '02' off else control timed spot 05 off I'm doing this from memory, so it may not be exactly the same. But I don't see the keypad button LED go off at the end of the time cycle. And I had to put a Signalinc phase coupler and a Filterlinc to get the X10 signals through as the PLM is on a isolated circuit with all the computer equipment in the room. The floodlight is the only X10 device I have now. My other question is, is it better to define a light in a scene then add the keypad or switchlinc controllers to it or define each keypad button and switchlinc and add the light (on a switchlinc or keypad dimmer) to it? Thank you, -Larry
