  1. Wow, I've been plagued with the same issue and have been struggling for weeks trying to figure out how to fix it. De-registering and re-registering worked! Thanks!!! Unfortunately it doesn't appear that non-Amazon echo devices (Sonos One, for example) can be added to groups though
  2. Looks like mine is back to normal as well. Thank goodness!
  3. Hmm, I was thinking it was ISY as I see no chatter about it outside of this forum so far.
  4. I only rediscovered because my devices I have setup weren't responding.
  5. French names, but yep, same here:
  6. Same thing here. My devices stopped responding and I now have multiple devices that aren't mine and are in French: Dunno wth this is all about.
  7. Hopefully January...
  8. For me, right now, the primary benefit is consolidating controls of multiple devices into one interface. Instead of having to pull my phone out and open multiple apps for multiple devices, Echo combines them all into one, voice-controlled, interface. That by itself is a huge benefit for me.
  9. A couple of problems with their plan to do their own version of Echo: Not all of their hardware have built in microphones The hardware that does have built in microphones are only near-field, not far-field, which are not suitable for voice recognition I imagine it'd take a tremendous investment from Sonos and their customers (having to buy all new hardware) to compete with Echo, and with the recent layoffs, I can't imagine they have the capital to do so.
  10. Looks like Sonos finally gave up and gave in to an Amazon partnership to allow Echo voice control of Sonos devices!! http://www.wired.com/2016/08/amazon-echo-adds-sonos-voice-control-stable/ http://www.forbes.com/sites/aarontilley/2016/08/30/sonos-is-moving-into-voice-control-with-amazon-alexa-partnership/#77f1858a2979
  11. Same problem here with a Samsung TV in our bedroom. When the TV is playing, the bedroom Echo won't respond, we have to pause it and issue a command. On the flip side, if we have Sonos playing in the kitchen, our kitchen Echo hears us just fine. Weird.
  12. As its name implies, you have to tap the Tap's button in order to issue commands, which I think defeats some of the purpose it might have for Smart Home automation.
  13. Sorry guys, I believe this might be partially my fault! I submitted several pieces of feedback to Amazon to get rid of the "OK" response, as I tend to find it highly annoying. I do agree though that it should be an option to choose which response you want, or it'd be even cooler if you could upload custom responses!
