  1. Any chance you plan on adding camera support? The ability to add a camera, enter the URL, username, password then when clicked would show the stream? Showing a thumbnail image from all the cameras would be extra cake. I have been waiting for an App that can integrate ISY + Elk + Cameras for my wife. I could get it done with three different apps but would rather everything be integrated into one.
  2. Hello, So I created a program that is triggered "if Device is not responding" how long does it take before that will actually trigger normally? Is that what the default "Query All" is for? In order to speed that process up I created a Program than run every 15 minuets and in turn runs these type of Programs. Is there a better way to have it periodically check the status of the devices?
  3. I thought using a program instead of linking the relay directly to Alexa would work but Alexa just doesnt understand "close <this thingy>".
  4. I just got the ISY Portal setup and Alexa is now able to control some of my devices. However Alexa is not able to correctly close the garage door. I can say "open the garage door" and that works but "close the garage door" does not. If I say "open the garage door" again it will actually close the door. My guess is because the relay is open On for about 2 seconds and then is turned off again because it is acting like the push button. So "close" to Alexa is the Off state and the relay is already in that state so it does nothing.
  5. It probably wouldnt be a problem except stacking the FilterLinc on and I/O Linc would result in one huge conglomeration dangling from the ceiling outlet. Would probably need to do something to secure it up there to make sure it doesnt fall. However I just got a few LED bulbs on my trip to Lowes and everything is working fine now. No more CFL's and the garage door motor doesnt seem to cause the same problems that the CFL's were. Even my florecent bulbs in the garage are not causing any problems so far. If they do I would probably install something like the Leviton inline filters before the balast.
  6. So I have a ton of CFL lights all over and I just discovered how much problems they can cause you with Insteon signals. I put one of my I/O Linc units on the garage door outlet on the ceiling of my garage. The garage door openen has two lights in it (both CFL). Anytime I would trigger the garage door opener with the relay on the I/O Linc I would lose connection to the I/O Linc for a while. Turns out that the lights on the garage door opener were coming on and they happen to be CFLs. It was causing so much interference that it would cause the I/O Linc to fail communicating with the PLM. Im pretty sure its the CFL and not the motor (but it could be both). When I manually turned the CFL lights off I could then Query the I/O Linc again. So should I put a filter on the garage door opener? I would really like to get something less bulky that the Insteon filter. Perhaps something I can install in the garage door opener maybe.
  7. Yeah after playing around with it thats what I determined also. Now the logic seems pretty limited I could not figure out how to do it all withing two programs. I wanted to have one program for "Up" and another for "Down" but with the current logic it seems like you cannot do ifelse or switch statements inside of the if/else/then enviroment. So I ended up with several programs to cycle through all the "Up" states and another several to cycle back through the "Down" states. They are all triggered by the "Control" button being set to On on my keypad and its set in non-toggle mode so each button press triggers the action based on the current state. Kind of a mess but its doing the job. The dimming light isnt really doing much because the CFL lights that came with my new fan are not dimmable. Ill have to get some dimmable LED lights and see if that helps. Thanks.
  8. I have a FanLinc and a Mini Remote 8 button keypad. Is it possible to use one button to cycle between off->25%->50%->75%->100%? The only place that seems to work would be inside a program. A scene on the remote button seems like it can only set devices to a specific state instead of cycle through them like a dimmer.
  9. I have the PLM in my office right now. Lots of computers, printer, UPS and power strips. Hmm. I'll look into getting a filter for the UPS and printer for starters.
  10. I got a really long network cable and put the PLM in a different outlet/circuit/room. It worked! So I put it back into the oringial room in a different outlet. Still on the same circuit and its still working. Was even able to add my FanLinc that I installed upstairs (pretty sure its not connecting wirelessly). Now I am going to try and write a program to monitor the I/O Linc with the feezer sensor on it. Should be fun!
  11. This is my first setup These devices are the first I have connected and tried to Link. I/O Linc 2450 (with Minotaur Engineering IVT2) I/O Linc 2450 (Garage Kit) I also have some other devices ready to add: FanLinc 2475F Dimmer Switch 2477D Keypad Dimmer Switch 2334-2 Mini Remote 2342-2
  12. I unplugged both the PLM and the ISY getting everything into one outlet. So everything has been power cycled multiple times at this point. However I did it again and same behavior with both devices. 13. I/O Linc and PLM in the same outlet... Still wont link/detect the I/O Linc. Here are the logs from both. Both I/O Linc addresses start with 3D. No device in the list start with that address range so I thought maybe it was a new revision of the 2450 that might need to be added. 14. I have a 994 Firmware and UI are 4.4.6. I have not. However I also just got a new garage door kit from Smarthome and it included another I/O Linc 2450 with a similar address. I plugged that device into an outlet near the PLM and its doing the exact same thing. Perhaps ISY does not recognize I/O Linc 2450 version 2.4?
  15. It does not have an "®" in the product number. When I ordered it it didnt say refurbished but that was the only option for the IO Linc 2450 outside of the "Auto Detect" option.
  16. I just ordered a new I/O Link 2450 and I cannot add it to my ISY. If I try to use the "Start Linking" it never finds the device and if I try manually adding it I get that "Cannot determine Insteon Engine" message. In the logs it shows "Failed to add device, reason 3". Not sure what that means. Also if I manually select the 2450 from the list of devices it shows "refurbished" and the starting codes dont match my devices address. I also got some logs while doing the "Start Linking" method: Fri 06/24/2016 02:34:05 PM : Start Insteon Device Linking Mode Fri 06/24/2016 02:34:05 PM : [LNK-BGN ] 02 64 01 00 06 Fri 06/24/2016 02:34:39 PM : Stop Insteon Device Linking Mode, Final processing to follow Fri 06/24/2016 02:34:39 PM : [LNK-END ] 02 65 06 : : Unexpected, ignored (65) Fri 06/24/2016 02:34:40 PM : [All ] Writing 0 bytes to devices
  17. Thanks for the reply! I think I mentioned not having the switches wired to any load. I guess some of my confusion is if the switch needs to be dimmable or just on/off. Because the dimmable vs on/off appears to be just about the switch actually wired to a load and not if its being used to control another device. Unless the dimmable ones are the only ones with the progressive 25% - 50% - 75% - 100% indicator on the faceplate? Actually I just now found a review on Amazon that states what I thought about the on/off switches "The LED "gauge" indicator is present on this on/off switch but only lights up the bottom (off) or top (on) LED." As for the Smoke Alarms all of them are UL tested to perform their required function and by "cheap" I mean "fewer features" or "basic" even. I ended up ordering the same ones I was looking at to being with First Alert SA521CN-3ST. Just something to replace the 10 year old ones I currently have. I would love to have something tied to an Elk alarm panel so it could be monitored but want to make sure its all to local code and I'm not ready to do all that yet.
  18. Hello, I just got an ISY994iZw/IR PRO and am so itching to start getting it setup. I got a FanLinc for my master bedroom fan that is wired to two switches (one for the fan and one for the light). I have been going over how to control the FanLinc and think that the best solution would just be two dimmable switches (neither wired to any load) and the FanLinc to control light dimming and fan speed. I know that the 6-button keypad is also popular for controlling the FanLinc. I supose that I could use a 6 button KeyPad (KPL?) for programed scenes like "movie time", "bedtime" or whatever. Thought that "movie time could dim the lights or turn certain ones off that cause glare on the TV while bedtime could turn off the lights in the rest of the house and make sure the garage door is closed ect. Thought I would ask here and just get some direction on switches. Maybe it wont matter if this turns out to be as big of an addition as I think its going to be. Im already debating using an ELK alarm to detect my garage door being opened vs the Insteon Garage Door Kit. Looks as if my idea of using an ELK M1 panel for door, windows and motion sensors are just business as usual for the ISY. So thats pretty exciting. I need to get some new fire alarms but for now I think Ill just get some cheap ones until I can finally get an ELK panel installed and have everything monitored. Here we go I guess
