Just tried this for the umpteenth time, but then decided to check my gateway modem/router settings. And now, officially feeling like a foolish noobie. My wife complained today about a printer not working. When power went out, my router must have lost its static IP assignments including ISY (and the aforesaid printer). I went into router web interface to view the devices and saw the different IP assigned through DHCP. So ISY finder was using one from a previous load. Now updated and fixed. Sorry for the post before bottoming out some other obvious causes.

I have had Admin Console and an ISY994i with Zwave module for several years. After a power outage on Friday, I can no longer get into Admin Console. Moblilinc and Alexa work fine showing that my ISY is still working, just no way to access it via Admin Console. ISY Finder works fine, and finds the UUID and URL for my ISY994i. When I click on the URL or UUID I do not get the dialog box to click on LAN or browser versions of Admin Console, so there is no way to start it. 994i rebooted and lights went through bootup process correctly PLM has green light and rebooted (previously repaired with upgraded capacitors) Win 10 computer on same router as ISY, router rebooted. Redownloaded Start.jnlp, cleared Java cache and reinstalled. Turned off firewall even though it had an exception that worked prior. I have reviewed the recent post by TWalker with similar issues, but I think that was a MAC, so could not get it to work. Let me know if you need further info or logging. Thanks Gary

Glory Be!! As simple as this solution was, it worked! Scene finally working after dozens of retries. I was hesitant to use the "restore devices" command as the warning box makes it look like it's going to reprogram every single device on your system. I had another scene with a ZWave device that was quirky to get working, and I was worried about losing it. Thanks Mr Bill Gary

Any further suggestions to fix this scene/devices?

Thanks Mr. Bill, I didn't know that, but I think I managed to cover it by trying everything I could think of from multiple directions. To be sure, I've just gone in and looked at the Parlor lights from the root level of the Conversation scene. the only thing I changed was changing retries from 1 to 2. But no effect. Below is shot of red link root level screen, with Conversation scene turned on (to 20%). Even though both devices show at 20%, the fireplace is not on. If I press Query in the scene screen, it will correct the screen and show the Fireplace off, but Parlor lights on. No difference between activating through Admin Console, or at device.

Thanks Lil Yoyo Firmware and UI as follows, v5.3.4. By configuring attributes and controller, do you mean the admin console scene & device screens below? From this forum, I think maybe there is a way to look at the underlying script/coding, but I don't know how to access that, though I do have some coding ability in other systems. Let me know if you see anything unusual in these config screens. At the moment I have only one responder to the Conversation scene, while troubleshooting this problem. Gary

I'm creating a new scene "Conversation" with a "newly reset" 2477D dimmer switch as a controller. I want a dimmed conversation lighting that turns on two other nodes, a 2nd 2477D "fireplace light" and a 2457D2 dimmer module "table lamp". Both of these responders work fine responding to another scene with different controllers nearby. Here's what I've done: - Replaced 1 2477D with another thinking maybe the switch was bad. Added switch with a different name - Repeated deleting the switch and the scene a few times in admin console, then doing reset as follows. - Full reset of 2477D with 10 seconds off, followed by pressing until the long beep fully ends. - Readded the switch in Admin Console, and recreate the scene with a new name (and managed scene serial number) The controller 2477D works fine on it's own, either physically or through admin console or alexa. The responders are the problem. When I turn the scene on from Admin Console, the two responders show at their On level, but aren't physically On. Pressing Query, they change to show as Off. Physically turning on the controller switch doesn't do anything to the responders either. When I compare the two scenes in Admin Console, the one with the same responders working, they look the same, but the second one just won't work? What am I doing wrong? or could I have two 2477D switches that have gone partly bad?

Trying to add Zwave switch to existing Insteon-only Scene
bertible replied to bertible's topic in Z-Wave - Series 300/500
Okay, getting somewhere! Your suggestion was good and started me on the path to success. I ended up completely deleting the scene, resetting the sensor to factory default and writing changes to it (i.e. no scene) to get to a zero baseline. Then I started from scratch using your suggestion to add the Zwave switch even before the sensor or other Insteon switch. When I added the sensor, I started getting intermittent success, i.e. the sensor sometimes turned the zwave switch on. I kept retrying writing the changes to the PIR sensor from admin console (each time putting the PIR in write mode). Also saving changes in the Program screen, since I know this is necessary for mobilinc, even if the change is in the Main screen. I think the saving in the sensor was the sticky point, that the sensor was not always getting the changes. But at this point, I now have both switches responding to the PIR sensor with no delay... Phew! Thanks for your help. -
Trying to add Zwave switch to existing Insteon-only Scene

Looked online for replacement insteon detectors, either 2842 or 2844. Scarce as hens teeth and expensive when you find one. So ordered a no-name z-wave detector for troubleshooting. In meantime will continue to retry scene and programming fixes. Still seems strange that the detector succeeds in sending to ISY, and ISY succeeds in sending to Zwave switches, but the two can't be combined. -

Yes, 2842. I've wondered if it's the sensor, so if an older version that could support that it's the culprit (since it couldn't possibly be a user-induced error, LOL). Gary -

I tried writing a program again, and got this version below to partly work, but not with the PIR sensor controlling the On/Off, only by pushing the Laundry Rm nr Hall On/Off button in Admin Console. The ZW switch follows the Insteon On/Off commands almost immediately. Trying the same program but with the PIR sensor status or switching on in the IF statement and it wouldn't do anything . -

Hi lilyoyo Here is the controller/responder perspective from the PIR sensor 2842-222. Since my last post, I deleted the scene completely then recreated it (with no positive effect) Gary -

Thanks Mr Bill and DaveF for responding. Answer is pretty well Yes to most of your questions: Enbrighten switch and Add-on switch work fine physically The main enbrighten switch is about 50 feet walking from ISY, but around some corners, so 25 feet direct with two walls between. (I realize not ideal) Yes, the switch (all 6 "nodes) added fine in Admin Console as you'll see below. Some initial difficulty seeing these switches in Admin Console was overcome by firmware upgrade, exclude/include actions, and moving ISY higher in my equipment room, and i did just try turning in on it side too. (yesterday I actually had it running down the hall with wires with no improvement to this scene issue) Switch works fine turning on/off from Admin Console, from Mobilinc App, and even from Alexa. This would lead me to believe that the ISY:switch communications are fine, unless Scenes require a stronger signal than on/off commands. Here is a screenshot of the Scene. The PIR-Sensor and Laundry Rm nr Hall switch are both Insteon. I've also tried a new scene where I let the PIR turn the insteon switch on, then try to use the insteon switch as the controller to the Zwave switch. That didn't work either. I've also tried a few times, moving the On setting to 100% but it keeps reverting back to the value as shown below. I do have one more zwave (dimmer) switch I could install in between the ISY and this switch, but these wouldn't be my preferred location to use up a $50 switch. -

Thanks lilyoyo1, I am using Admin Console, and ISY version 5.3.4, Zwave version 6.82.01 , just upgraded ISY firmware in order to add ZWave. I had already moved my ISY closer to devices with extension cords/ethernet cables, but may try moving even closer (line of sight). Thanks for the on/off switch advice. Will stop trying with all the other stuff. Gary
