  1. I am at UI ver.4.2.18, firmware ver. 4.2.3. Am not clear on the difference between. Seems like emphasis has been on maintaining latest Firmware version. Sensor is operating reliably at approx. distance of 40 feet from nearest dual band device. No reporting of Heartbeat status yet.
  2. Heartbeat field box has predefined values ranging from 5 minutes, to 21 hours, 15 minutes. User selectable. Low Battery field box has predefined values ranging from 0.87 volts to 1.75 volts. User selectable. Unit came with 0.87 selected, which I kept. No apparent way to deselect the reporting, no check boxes.
  3. I am at ver.4.2.3. and unable to send "screen shot" from Admin Console for the screen for this unit. Windows 8. Selectable variable choices from Options pop up include Low Battery Level and Heartbeat Interval. No mention of Options descriptions found on Owners Manual, Quick Start Guide, or Smarthome website. I have set interval for 20 hours and will monitor log to see what happens. Current Heartbeat State is On. I assume ISY will check State every 20 hours and watch for a change to Off, indicating a failed battery.
  4. The Open/Close Sensor under options on ISY-994i allows for selecting different intervals to be set for Heartbeat. Does this determine how often ISY will look at last Heartbeat report, or how often the sensor will actually report? I understand the default report interval is about every 24 hours. Since ISY cannot interrogate battery operated units that are not always "on line", I see no way the report interval can be changed remotely. Right?
  5. Am unable to back up ISY-994i ver. 4.2.3. File is zipped. Cannot extract. Has worked fine in past, same configuration. New requirements? Recommended procedure? Thanks.
  6. Am unable to access Log in Windows 8.1. Don't have Excel, but would get if necessary. Have tried Corel Calculate, but can't get necessary info to build spreadsheet. Adobe doesn't recognize file. Appreciate any suggestions. ISY Version 4.2.3.
  7. I guess this a good time to ask about the possibility of accessing my admin console, or ISY, over the home network from devices that do not run Windows. Such as my Kindle Fire tablet, and others. I realize that ISY has certain parameters required for access, or that's just the way it's built. This has been addressed before, but I seem to recall reading that the possibility was being considered. Some of us out here are not as technically proficient as others, and don't understand a lot of the terms used. If this is in the works, I'd like to hear about it.
  8. Yes you can. With help from Steve at ISY, got it entered into my ISY and working. 994i ISY ver. 4.2.3, 2412 PLM, 2443 Access point. Placed sensor adjacent to Access Point and followed instructions here. Used HDS device type, bottom of list on New Insteon Device Menu. Saved $80.00, cost of new Dual Band PLM.
  9. If you have the old version 2412S PLM but a 2443 Dual Band Access Point can you Add Insteon Device in close proximity to the Access Point? Follow same proceedure?
  10. Any compatibility problems with latest Java update # 55 and ISY 994i?
  11. Is the $99. ISY-99i to 994 upgrade special for current owners still in effect?
  12. I installed a remote control fireplace starter in a customers house a few years ago. Used a JDS Timecommander system accessed by a modem over phone line. The fact that I could sit at home fifty miles away and start a fire in his house at anytime made me feel a little creepy.
  13. It appears that the old "operator error" condition has once again reared its ugly head. When I properly close out previously successful Log window and re-step through the procedure, all is well. Appreciate all help.
  14. I've had pretty good results with my copy of Excel 2003 up til now. This morning, attempting to access Log - Tools, Log, etc. thru Admin Console, I reached the usual notice that file users\bi\appdata\local\temp\ud.xls contains macros. I enabled macros and got Log. With info. Second attempt using same proceedure I reached "could not open the Excel Macro C:\users\bi\appdata\local\temp\UDReport.txt". No access further. Closing and restarting UDI, trying to access Log, takes me to same message. I have operated on ver.3.2.6 and previous versions with no problem. Can't think of recent change to computer or system that could have caused this.
  15. That may be it, it says it can't find a file. I'll dig, thanks.
  16. Works ok as plain text. Whoa, try reading that! And yes, my Excel is very old.
  17. It is identified as an Excell macro.
  18. Woops, my bad, now get "cannot open Macro C:users\ ...UDReport.txt."
  19. Yes, but appears to be ok now, thanks.
  20. Can't access log from Admin Console - Tools, Log - no Requester appears.
  21. I do that. I also have 99I lower shades at 3:10 PM (personal choice) and retract them at Sunset. KeypadLinc button on / off overrides. Shades are also retracted by Weatherbug Module, if wind speed exceeds 15 MPH. Programed but not tested, I am praying for wind. My thanks to excellent tech support of UDI for clearing up a few questions. Continue this thread or E-mail me for more info.
  22. How to determine assigned address of module when sticker is gone? #2450 I/OLinc.
  23. Is there a way to access the beep feature of the 2413S with ISY?
  24. I was using an outlet on my desk adjacent to my computer, which has been used before. The problem has been no indication on Admin Console to show successful linking. When I call for linking and then exit out of Admin Console and re enter, it indicates linking in progress. And linking this time takes place. Operation of the module is correct. I considered that perhaps I was not allowing enough time for all necessary tasks to complete, but it doesn't seem this was the case in the past. Bottom line, all seems ok. Quite possibly Operator Error. Thanks.
  25. Running Version 2.8.16 ISY. Have scoured Forum. Brand new module. No other problems with this version.
