  1. 2420M appears to be working properly. Should not have tried updating software and adding new device at same time. 2 new questions. Since I have the ability to power unit from stand alone 9 VDC supply and supposedly get away from the degrading battery voltage, has anyone done this? Would like to know before I try it. Also, has anyone used the Lo-Bat indication sent back to ISY to provide alarm or notification to user? I have LED disabled and assume I would not get double - flash from unit. Thanks.
  2. Believe I have found my problem. Will observe operation overnight and post my results. My thanks for all the help.
  3. Incorrect address format message was received and noted during installation attempt, not applicable. Motion Sensor approximately 3 feet from access point. Event Log results saved, need instruction on posting.
  4. No go. #2420M flashes, no notification of incorrect address format, have tried placing in linking mode before OK, and after. Is this apparently latest version of #2420M compatible with 2.8.16?
  5. Recently upgraded, apparently successfully, toRev.2.8.16. Having trouble adding 2420M rev. 2.0 to ISY. Was able to add to previous version (2.7.15). Have followed standard proceedure and consulted Wiki. No luck.
  6. Hey Michel, us older guys understand step # 3. Younger guys may not.
  7. I don't have my ISY yet, (waiting for rebate) but I have been closely following what you all have to say. After many years trying to make HA systems work properly by improving my knowledge and requesting help from the manufacturers, I am impressed with the response from UDI to input from it's owner base. I realize all things requested are not possible, but this is always explained in a way that leaves the customer with the feeling he is not just being patronized. This is stellar performance in todays world. I look forward to getting my system started, so I can come here and say Help!
  8. Would you say the Stargate / TC is more reliable at recognizing external input change of states but the ISY / Insteon is more reliable at controlling modules over the powerline? Thanks.
  9. Not a UDI owner yet. Am planning on replacing a JDS Time Commander - yes, still functioning - with a UDI controller. Features of the TC that I have come to appreciate include the ability to connect digital input change-of-state conditions directly to TC thru opto isolators. These conditions could be incorporated into schedules. I have not been able to find here the method to be used to effect the same results without a physical connection to the controller. I understand an Insteon device accepting the digital change of state and then passing that on to the network as something the controller could respond to. Would that be an I/O device? Are there any sample programs showing how this is done. Thank you.
