  1. Ah ok, I think I'll use the IRLinc then. I'll have the GC-100 send out IR codes instead. Thanks!!
  2. Ok, so I purchased an Iphone App called Bobby, which is a neat remote program. The program integrates with GC-100, which I have connected to the ISY. I am creating "buttons" in the Bobby program, which then send the command through the GC-100 and into the ISY via the Serial port. Here comes the question. How do I figure out what commands to send to the ISY to turn something on or off? It looks like it is allowing me to send either RS-232 ASCII commands or RS-232 Hexadecimal commands. Can somebody point to a resource to figure out how to code in these formats? Can you provide an example in each to, lets say turn on and turn off 0E.A4.F4, which is a LampLinc? Thanks!!!
  3. Thanks Michael. That helps. I feel like maybe I still would get Bobby. It seems to be more customizable to look and feel like an actual TV remote. You can move buttons around and position them (not just in a grid format). At least that is how it appears anyway. Can you program Insteon AND TV buttons on the Bobby app to communicate through the Global Cache hardware and pass into the ISY? I'm guessing the ISY plugs into the Global Cache?
  4. Ok, so here is what I want to do. I would appreciate anybody's expert opinions. I currently have the ISY and it works great. I have a couple of Ipod touches and use the TouchSwitch app to control insteon. I would like to do the following: - Have the ability to use the Ipod touch as a universal remote control for TV AND control insteon - preferably on the same screen or "remote" on the ipod touch using some app I've been looking at this app called Bobby using the Global Cache hardware. Would this accomplish what I want? So the Bobby app would have a "remote" on the Ipod touch screen. This remote could include buttons to control the tv and buttons to control my insteon devices (which I'm thinking would route from the global cache through the ISY?) Is that a correct assumption? If not, how could I accomplish this? (what hardware and what app for the Ipod touch) Thanks!!
  5. Is it on the short list or the long list?
  6. I have an Insteon outlet in my backyard that landscape lights are plugged into. When it rains, something is getting wet and causing the GFCI to trip, which is on the same line as the Insteon outlet. Sometimes I don't notice when the GFCI trips, and I don't reset it. Is there a program I can write that will monitor the Insteon outlet and notify me if there is a Device Communication Error with that outlet (i.e. the GFCI tripped)?
