Not that I am aware of.

FWIW, I opened a ticket last week and they confirmed the issue. They indicated that a fix would be available midweek this week.

More clues... Tried again today. Got the double dialog as usual. But the Error dialog was "Subscriber didn't reply to event: 1 [30]". So I guess they vary. Also, while all of the programs are there are look perfect, none are running. I renamed a program (because there are no comments available, so the name is the only comment you get ). Suddenly all of the programs sprung to life. Alas, it was no help for Z-Wave. Regards, Neal

Thanks for the response. I appreciate the help. Hmm.. I was coming from 4.8 (the last non beta release). The upgrade instructions were somewhat fuzzy. I guess I could attempt backing down to 5.0.16 and then go to 5.3. Is that the common path? Regards, Neal
-
Hello All, Now that 5.3.0 is an official non-beta release it seemed high time to upgrade. Being a Z-Wave user I acquired a 500 series dongle first. Then Z-Wave backup, ISY backup, upgrade hardware, upgrade software to 5.3.0. All good. Final step was to restore Z-Wave. Attempting that resulted in an unpainted error dialog immediately followed by the not restored dialog. Additional attempts yielded the same results (an unpainted error dialog followed by the restore failed dialog). After logging in/out a couple of times I tried again and got "Change of state failed: SID not found [uuid:0]" as the dialog before the restore failure. There is probably a FAQ somewhere gave me a hint or missed a step (some of the upgrade steps seemed a bit conflictuous) so feel free to send me an RTFM response. Thanks in advance for suggestions. Regards, Neal

... mostly answered my own question. It worked, but only after getting admin.jnlp from the isy itself and then launching that. Don't know why the one from the UD site dies.
-
My apologies if this is a FAQ question, but I cannot find the answer... Is it possible to use a current OpenJDK/OpenWebStart to run the Admin tool? https://openwebstart.com/ The ISY Finder launches properly with no issues. But neither Admin nor Dashboard will run. Thanks in advance for tips.

Hi All, Problem solved. I will post the solution here for posterity. Despite the giant warnings on the dialog, the answer was "Buttons Grouping". Specifically, and for reasons unclear, buttons A and C were not in a Mutually Exclusive Buttons group. All of the other buttons grouped up as needed automatically based on the programming I did outside of that dialog. Once I added the grouping for A and C manually in the dialog it all worked perfectly. Regards, Neal

I am puzzled as to why it would only affect button C (and A depending upon perspective). All of the other buttons work as expected. Only C blinks when pressed (despite working). It is also the only button that does not annunciate status (probably the same issue, whatever that is). Regards, Neal
-
Hmm.. perhaps bumping would help. I know someone here will know what the issue is... I hope

I know I can just use one button per function. But I would prefer to use two. Regards, Neal

A through H are all Non-Toggle [on]. Scene for A: Switch A -> 100 Switch C -> 0 Fan -> 100 ( it is an on/off) C is the opposite It is the blinking that really puzzles me.

Hello, I have an 8-key KeypadLinc that I am attempting to use for what feels like simple purposes. It is not working out as planned. Setup: I have two outdoor fans that don't have room for a FanLinc. I need to be able to turn the fans on and off, and do the same with the fan lights (dimming them would be nice too) I have installed one Micro Dimmer (2442-222) and one Micro On/Off (2443-222) in a junction box extension on each of the two fans I have installed one 8-button KeypadLinc nearby (2334-2) I have added all of the devices to the ISY and they all are working properly from the admin interface. What I wanted: A: Fan 1 on B: Fan 2 on ? Fan 1 off ? Fan 2 off E: Fan 1 Light on/brighten F: Fan 2 Light on/brighten G: Fan 1 Light off/dim H: Fan 2 Light off/dim I have realized that brighten/dim aren't possible in the manner which I was hoping with the KeypadLinc -- or at least I think that is the case. Please let me know if I have missed the point there. Moving on, I was able to otherwise program the switchlinc as desired. Mostly. There are a few glitches, one of which is glaring. If I press button A, Fan 1 turns on -- Good. If I press button C, Fan 1 turns off, button C blinks a few times, and then goes out. With B/D, E/G, and F/H things seem to mostly work. I have already tried resetting the KeypadLinc, but there is no change. I am not using any programs for this, only scenes (8 of 'em). Thoughts? I am sure I am missing something simple. Regards, Neal

OK.. that one makes a modicum of sense. If that is the case, then how does one write that condition correctly. In other words, I only want to do the work if the lights are off. If turning the lights on [through the scene] then kills the wait due to the lights now being on it defeats the purpose. What is Best Practice for this situation? Regards, Neal
-
Possible. But every time?!?
-
Hello, I have a program that is supposed to turn on the garage lights for a few minutes after the garage door closes at night. It turns on the lights 100% of the time, but I don't think it has ever turned them off after the wait. The following is the program: Garage Courtesy Lights - [iD 000E][Parent 0001] If From Sunset To Sunrise (next day) And ( Control 'Garage / Double Door' is switched On Or Control 'Garage / Single Door' is switched On ) And Status 'Garage / Garage Side Door Switch' is Off Then Set Scene 'Garage / Garage Lights' On Wait 10 minutes and 10 seconds Set Scene 'Garage / Garage Lights' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') This is the only program that I have with a "Wait" if that matters. Any thoughts as to what the issue is would be appreciated. Regards, Neal

Michel, That would be a reasonable theory.. except that the thermostat is responding to temperature queries.. just not settings queries. Oh, and it is on line. Or at least it appears that way to ISY, and the portal. What would be the best way to track this issue down? Regards, Neal
-
Hi, I have two 2441TH Thermostats in my system, both now hooked up to the portal and Echo. The results for one are odd: If I say: Alexa, what is the upstairs thermostat temperature? She says: The upstairs thermostat temperature is 77 degrees. But it I say: What is the upstairs thermostat set to? She says: Hmm... the upstairs thermostat is not responding. If I ask her the same questions for the downstairs thermostat she provides the second answer correctly. Any thoughts on what the issue might be? Thanks in advance. Regards, Neal

Stu, Kind of. Only the one's where I wanted to use the load wire for another purpose are a waste Also, to clarify, I meant that it is a waste because the hardware could certainly be made to do what I am referring to. The firmware is just not setup that way. Such is life. Regards, Neal

Bummer. Such a waste. Thanks Stu. I guess the micro will probably be the best bet.

Hello, I have a pair of 2477S units (written about elsewhere) that are in a scene. One of them controls a load. The other is just a remote, and has the load line capped. It would be great if I could take advantage of that load time for a scheduled task (night lighting), but in order to do so, the following would need to be possible: Turn on the load with no indication on the switch LEDs Still have the correct indication for the scene Not have activation of the scene trigger the local load In other words, I want to know if it is possible to separate the user interface (the switch paddle and LEDs) from the relay that controls the load. Seems like this might be a useful thing in general. If this even possible? Cheers, Neal

Yes.. Tried the fade down, and it works -- slowly. For my purposes, that will be fine. Thank you for the help. I was using the term hack in the sense that it should work another way, but alas, I have to settle. The scripting environment is quite powerful -- though documentation is kind of thin. Would be easier if I could just code it in Java. Cheers, Neal

While I have lots of programs in my ISY, this is this first one I wrote to get around an issue. But so be it. If course the ISY knew I was a bit bitter about it. The program you suggested did not work as written. Specifically it does not run though it is enabled. Regards, Neal
-
I cannot use a dimmer on the load end as the load is non-dimmable (large quantity of CFL pole lights in the garage). I have a 994i.. and I can certainly put the described hack in place. But it will require 2 programs (one for bright and one for dim) for every 3 way switch (as opposed to dimmer) in my network. I was just hoping there was a better work-around available. Like: a way to disable the dim scene output on a 2477S switch (would probably require SH to fix) a way to enable the dim to 0 scene input to count an off (and vice versa -- I think UD could fix) As best I can tell there is no scenario which dim messages would be useful when the only responder is a switch. Regards, Neal

Paul, I agree with most of what you wrote. However, if I have a scene which has only on/off, it should be possible to limit the scene as such. As it stands if I send the "dim" command from the non-load 2477S, the local relay [which is attached to nothing] flips after a second or so, but the remote switch is never signaled through the scene. That means that the local switch would read "off" when the scene and remote switch still read "on". That is what appears to be a defect. Or just as likely I am doing something wrong. Hence my questions. Regards, Neal
