CraigST
I have a new Open / Close sensor 2843-222 that randomly starts flashing continuously (4 flashes /sec) when the contact is opened. Anyone know the reason? Not described in the manual. Communication with my 2413U-PowerLinc-USB is also a bit inconsistent. Batteries are new. Even so, I occasionally get no events. Other times a get an extra open / close event when the contact is closed. I have a SynchroLinc - Power Synching INSTEON Controller about 2 meters away and my 2413U-PowerLinc-USB is one floor and about 10 meters away. Are these all RF communication problems? -- Craig
LeeG
The ISY requires a 2413S Serial PLM. A 2413U USB PLM does not work with an ISY. The flashing LED on the Open/Close Sensor is indicating an inability to communication with one or more of its Responders which would include the PLM. Need to resolve question of USB versus Serial PLM before anything else can be worked on.
CraigST
Thanks. I have the USB to Serial convertor installed on my mac server. Communication through the 2413U USB works with my Open/Close Sensor via Indigo 6 most of the time. The continuous LED flashing is intermittent. Since you have mentioned flashing is related to communication issues, I have tried re-orienting the Open/Close Sensor. So far it is working better. Is there any way to get other transceivers to help improve reliability? I have both a SynchroLinc and I/O Linc Low Voltage / Contact Closure Interface that I could locate nearby if they would help. -- Craig
Brian H
The ISY99i or ISY994i. Have a serial port that connects directly to the PLM. I can't see your setup working at all.
LeeG
CraigST From your last post it appears you do not have an ISY? Why are you posting an Indigo/2413U question on the ISY forum? I am concerned I’m missing something about your Insteon setup as it relates to the ISY which will result in the wrong analysis and wrong recommendation.
