ferdies
Is it a good idea to use filterlinc for a power strip and plugging-i PLM into the strip? Can this cause communication porblems? Thanks/
Brian H
NO. The filtered outlet on a FilterLinc will kill almost all of the Insteon power line signals. I have my PLM in the front unfiltered outlet and my UPS with computing equipment on the bottom filtered outlet. Of a FilterLinc
ferdies
Thank you. Just to validate - the PLM will be using the "always on" outlet of filterlinc and the bottom filtered outlet is for the power strip, right? Moreover, can I plug in ISY into the filtered power strip? Brian H
Yes the surge strip including the ISY power supply can be on the filtered outlet. Only the PLM has to be unfiltered. In my case all the electronics except the PLM are on an APC BX1000 UPS.
