Not sure where this belongs but it directly effects the use of the smoke bridge.

 

"A new Maryland law takes effect July 1. It requires battery-operated smoke alarms in homes have batteries that last ten years. State fire officials hope the new technology and the new law will save lives."

As far as I can see.

The smoke bridge is 120 volt AC only and has no batteries.

It also is not a smoke alarm as it only notifies you one of the First Alert Detectors has sent a message.

The new rules would definitely effect the First Alert Detectors but probably does not apply to the Smoke Bridge.
