paauto Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Is there a wet contact version of the I/O Linc available? I am trying to interface my existing Napco alarm to my ISY994 and the Napco is configured with a 24v wet contact. I can re-configure the Napco and turn the contact into a dry contact, but it will take soem work by my installer (i.e. time and $) and I may loose some functionality on how the system signals different types of alarms (burglary vs. fire).
LeeG Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 The Sense circuit is digital (5V DC), expecting the I/O Linc GND to turn the Sensor on. The I/O Linc could be damaged if 24 AC is applied to the Sense input. Also an AC voltage would cause the Sensor to cycle even if it did not destroy the I/O Linc which I suspect it would.
fitzpatri8 Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Use one of these to interface the alarm to an IOLinc: http://www.smarthome.com/1299/ELK-912B- ... olt/p.aspx
paauto Posted July 18, 2013 Author Posted July 18, 2013 Thanks. I posted on the SmartHome Forum and received the same advice. That's what I'll do.
ELA Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Here is a link to the relay shown on the device referenced: Note the minimum permissible load: http://www.hascorelays.com/electro_klt_series.asp You would want the 3 amp version
