brobin
http://www.weedtech.com/ has some interesting Relay cards as well as digital and analog I/O devices that look like they could be interfaced to the ISY's extra serial port. The various I/O channels could be used to trigger programs or as 'actions' in programs. These could provide interfaces to all kinds of devices and extend Insteon control to a plethora of new applications. I know that there are some similar devices from Simply Automated's EZIO line but I think the Weeded cards might be more flexible and cost effective. Link to comment
Michel Kohanim
brobin, Very interesting! We are working on a serial expander to be used with our Trigger 2.0 release and as such you would be able to use almost any serial device. The only problem has been lack of enough time in the week! In short, we shall have a serial expander interface but unfortunately I cannot promise a date. linuxguy
This may be an old issue, but interfacing to external non-Insteon I/O hardware (which I am working on, as well), brings up the possibility of some sort of "software only" state device in the ISY. Then the external hardware could set a state flag for use by a trigger or schedule. Or perhaps read a state flag set by a program. The port B interface will be great when it arrives, and I already have a Weeder board on order to start playing around with. Great possibilities. Linuxguy Link to comment
Michel Kohanim
Linuxguy, Very interesting and very close to what we can do with the serial expander. krafty
Sort of along these lines, what are the chances of getting you guys to submit the information for the 99i to Star Draw, http://www.stardraw.com, so that the ISY is supported by Star Draw? Link to comment
Michel Kohanim
Hello krafty, Our JSDK and WS-SDK are publicly available. If you know a contact in Stardraw, just have them contact us and we'll provide them with the information necessary to integrate with ISY. With kind regards, Sort of along these lines, what are the chances of getting you guys to submit the information for the 99i to Star Draw, http://www.stardraw.com, so that the ISY is supported by Star Draw?
