gadgetfreak Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 I am going away soon and created a new Program called "Away - Trip" just for this trip that is to activate at 4 PM on MM/DD/YYYY. All the program does is set a Scene called "Away" to on. The scene "Away" sets a KPL to "On". Then I have a Program FOLDER called "Away" which will allow all the programs in that folder to run if the condition of the KPL being On is met (which it will be). I set up something similar for a few hours before I return calling that program "Back from Trip" with my return date. But when I look at the program summary tab, all I see scheduled is the new away program followed by the new "back" program and their associated dates. Should this screen know that the Away program happening in a few days will then trigger the other away programs and should I be seeing all of them in the summary? Or I won't see the other away programs in the summary until the dated away program actually occurs? I ask because if I am supposed to see it and I don't, I must have done something wrong. Thank you.
LeeG Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 "Should this screen know that the Away program happening in a few days will then trigger the other away programs and should I be seeing all of them in the summary?" No. The ISY does not analyze what the Folder condition might be some days in the future and then predict that other Programs may run because of the various If conditions in the Programs. Keep in mind that a Folder turning True does not cause programs in the Folder to trigger. The Folder condition changing to True only allows the Program If conditions to be evaluated when an event the Program is checking occurs.
gadgetfreak Posted August 8, 2013 Author Posted August 8, 2013 Great. So I didn't necessarily do this incorrectly. When the program "Away - Trip" is triggered based on the Date/Time, it will turn on my Scene which will turn on the KPL. Once the KPL is on, my Normal Program Folder will now be false and my Away program Folder will now be true. As such, all of the programs under the away folder will be allowed to run and will only run if THEIR conditions are met. Since each of those conditions are based on a time of day (for all days), I should be good to go. Thanks for clarifying.
