jp5150
Hello, I just ran some scene tests in order to troubleshoot a Keypad that isn't communicating, and all of my scene tests fail. Every single one! I'm not sure what to do at this point. Btw, if I control the devices directly from isy, the event viewer shows Max Hops=3, Hops Left=2 on all of the devices. Here's a log of one of the scene tests. I can post others, but the results are the same. LeeG
I spot checked a few of the devices that are marked Failed. They were false Failed messages for the ones I checked. What ISY firmware is being used for both the ISY and the Admin Console. Click Help | About and see what is displayed for Firmware and UI. There was a bug in an earlier ISY image that reported a successful response as failed. I suspect you are running an old level of the ISY and/or Admin Console. jp5150
Thanks for your quick reply LeeG. Here's the info you requested: Firmware: Insteon_UD99 v.3.2.6 UI: Insteon_UD994 v.4.0.5 Product: ISY 99i(1020) Ok, just noticed the UD994 for the UI. I get that when I launch the admin panel via admin.jnlp When I check with Safari, I get Insteon_UD99 v.3.2.6 for the UI. Re-ran the scene test under Safari. LeeG
I missed a key item in the second trace. Any Insteon traffic reaching the PLM during a Scene Test that is not related to the Scene Test will cancel the Scene. Thu 10/03/2013 06:46:55 PM : [CLEAN-UP-RPT] 02 58 15 The 15 in the last byte indicates "ALL-Link Cleanup sequence aborted due to INSTEON traffic" Really need to update to 3.3.10. I would recommend getting a 994i so that 3.3.10 is not the last ISY image that can be used.

LeeG
The key message [CLEAN-UP-RPT] 02 58 xx was not included in the posted information but it looks like there was activity associated with device 16.E2.E7 Fri 10/04/2013 10:07:14 PM : [iNST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 16 E2 E7 0F 28 0F Fri 10/04/2013 10:07:14 PM : [iNST-ACK ] 02 62 16.E2.E7 0F 28 0F 06 SET-MSB(0F) Fri 10/04/2013 10:07:23 PM : [iNST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 16 E2 E7 0F 28 0F Fri 10/04/2013 10:07:23 PM : [iNST-ACK ] 02 62 16.E2.E7 0F 28 0F 06 SET-MSB(0F) which looks like the ISY was trying to update 16.E2.E7 at the same time the Scene Test was running. The SET MSB command is associated with updating the link record database (and some other uses). Insteon will not allow a Scene to continue when other Insteon command activity is going on. I assume the 02 58 xx message would be 02 58 15 which indicates the Scene was canceled because of other Insteon activity. Need to insure all other Insteon activity has completed and there is no queued/pending updates before running a Scene Test.
jp5150
LeeG, Device 16.E2.E7 is a keypadlinc. It's showing the green pending writes symbol. When I try to write to it, it begins the process, but at around 4% it quits and says it can't communicate with the device. I'm going to disable it and run the scene test again. LeeG
The Scene Test is no longer indicating a False Failed now that the Firmware and UI are current and consistent. Once the KPL problem is resolved it should not be necessary to Disable the device to prevent driving the pending updates.
