2441ZTH Wireless Thermostat connection problems

Hello,

 

I've setup a good size insteon dual band network and don't have communication issues across any device, but my new 2441ZTH didn't want to link. Manually adding the address or linking through the 2441ZTH's set button returned "Cannot determine insteon engine". After many tries and a hard 2441ZTH reboot, it was finally added to the ISY, but the communication is flaky. Even if I place the 2441ZTH next to my PLM (v1., the communication may or may not work. I don't have any other wireless devices so maybe I've got interference. I did notice that the temp/humidity occasionally update.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

The 2441ZTH is a battery powered device that goes to sleep to save battery life. It cannot be queried because while asleep the RF circuitry is turned Off. The event trace is showing no response from the 2441ZTH (no 02 5x response) starting with the following message.

Suggest putting the device on a battery eliminator if queries will be done.
