Hi Everyone,

Here's a walkthrough of the new Voice Control plug-in for MobiLinc: http://mobilinc.com/features/voice/

Here's additional information that wasn't included in the video:

UPDATED to include the new 4.00.07 release features for dimming and thermostat control.

Voice Prompt
If using the voice prompt feature, you can either say the voice prompt and wait for the chime OR you can say the voice prompt followed by the command to give to MobiLinc. In either case MobiLinc will then listen for any commands for up to 20 seconds. After each successful command MobiLinc resets the timer for another 20 seconds. After 20 seconds of dead air or non-commands, MobiLinc goes back to enforcing that the voice prompt be used to issue commands.

Devices/Scenes
To configure, select your device or scene under Devices or Scenes and scroll to the bottom to select "Advanced Options".
Scroll to the bottom of Advanced Options and enter in a vocal name for the device or scene.
*NOTE: Short, unique names or phrases like "Kitchen" or "Office" work better than long phrases.

The MobiLinc voice engine is tuned to listen for your device and scene vocal names. If found, MobiLinc will toggle the device/scene based on its status. So, if MobiLinc has the status for a device as ON and MobiLinc senses a vocal hit on that device, MobiLinc will send the OFF command. If status is reporting OFF, MobiLinc will send the ON command.

If you add ON, OFF, Dim, Brighten, or a percent to the device vocal name when commanding MobiLinc, MobiLinc will process that request as explicitly as possible. Example using the device called "Kitchen":
"Turn my Kitchen OFF" - MobiLinc turns the Kitchen Lights off.
"Turn my Kitchen ON" - MobiLinc turns the Kitchen Lights on.
"Kitchen" - MobiLinc toggles the Kitchen Lights based on current status.
"Set Kitchen to 57 percent" - MobiLinc sets the Kitchen Lights to 57%.
"Set Kitchen to Dim" - MobiLinc dims the Kitchen Lights.
"Set Kitchen to Brighten" - MobiLinc brightens the Kitchen Lights.

For FanLinc motor devices, if you say the motor's vocal name plus:
- Off
- Low
- Medium
- High

MobiLinc will send that command to the FanLinc motor. Or if you just say the fan's vocal name, MobiLinc will cycle through the above commands with each hit of the vocal name.

If you add ON, OFF, Dim, Brighten, to the scene vocal name when commanding MobiLinc, MobiLinc will process that request as explicitly as possible. Example using the scene called "Outdoor":
"Turn Outdoor OFF" - MobiLinc turns the Outdoor scene off.
"Turn Outdoor ON" - MobiLinc turns the Outdoor scene on.
"Outdoor" - MobiLinc toggles the Outdoor scene based on current status.
"Set Outdoor to Dim" - MobiLinc dims the Outdoor scene.
"Set Outdoor to Brighten" - MobiLinc brightens the Outdoor scene.

**NOTE: Scenes will not respond to specific percentage commands. You can dim/brighten a scene, but due to how INSTEON scenes behave, it's not currently possible to define or set a scene percentage.

Thermostats
MobiLinc supports full thermostat control via voice commands. The thermostat name is the vocal name and is automatically included in the voice name list eligible for vocal control.

Thermostat examples using "Upstairs" as the thermostat name:
"Set Upstairs to (Cool|Heat|Auto|Program Cool|Program Heat|Off)" - MobiLinc sets the thermostat to the indicated mode.
"Set Upstairs (Cool|Heat) set point to 70 degrees" - MobiLinc sets the desired set point.
"Set Upstairs to Change Fan" - MobiLinc cycles between ON and AUTO for the fan mode.

Programs
To configure a program go to Programs and select your program. Scroll down to Advanced Options and select. Scroll to the bottom of the Advanced Options page to set the vocal name. When setting the vocal name for a program, you have the option to set which path of the program should be run when there's a hit on the vocal name. All options are available including our new option to auto-toggle between Enabled and Disabled.

ELK Security
If the MobiLinc ELK Plug-in is purchased then MobiLinc's Voice Control plug-in will include the alarm areas and output zones of the ELK. For areas you can simply say one of the following arming commands and MobiLinc will apply that arm command to all areas:
- DISARM
- ARM
- STAY
- NIGHT
- VACATION
- STAY INSTANT
- NIGHT INSTANT

If you include the name of an area plus an arming command from above, MobiLinc will attempt to send that arming command just to the area.

For outputs, MobiLinc will consider an output name eligible for vocal control if the output's name is not "Output" followed by a number.

Other Features
- Option to turn Voice Control on or off automatically when entering or leaving a geo-fence region.
- Option to force MobiLinc to always turn Voice Control on when opening MobiLinc.
- Sensitivity adjustments to increase or decrease how aggressive MobiLinc is in matching sounds with vocal commands. Helps to reduce false positives and increase sensitivity of wall mounted iPads or work around other environmental factors.
- Custom natural language processor that allows you to string together multiple commands to have MobiLinc execute a set of vocal commands.
Example: "Turn my Office lights to 83 percent, brighten my Kitchen, set My Home to Arm, and turn my Upstairs thermostat to Off."

Hi WES,

In the Voice control settings, what does the "Voice Prompt" do?

Is this a word that Voice command will listed for before executing a command?

Thanks

Hi douyon,

Yes, with the Voice Prompt, MobiLinc will listen for that word or phase first before accepting a command.

Voice Prompt

If using the voice prompt feature, you can either say the voice prompt and wait for the chime OR you can say the voice prompt followed by the command to give to MobiLinc.
