Garage Door Sensor not Refreshing Status

Hello All,

 

I have an ISY 99i that is setup with a garage door relay/sensor that has always sent an email anytime the door is opened or closed based off of the sensor status. About 2 weeks ago the emails stop coming. My first thought was that it was a gmail issue but now it seems to be a sensor issue. Here is what I have discovered.

 

• Log into ISY and click on Garage Door Relay
  Status Off
  Click on sensor
  Status On
  Click back onto Relay
  Click the On command button
  Garage door opens
  Once opened, click on sensor
  Still says On
  Right click on sensor and select query
  Display refreshes and now status says off and email arrives in the inbox.
   
  Has anyone ran into something like this in the past. It is almost like the sensor has stopped updating its status unless it is queried.

 

I am new so please forgive me if this is a simple question.

Watch the Green LED next to the wire connections. Does the Green LED turn On with door closed and turn Off when door opens. If the Green LED does not change state the issue is with the magnetic switch.

 

Assuming the Green LED cycles as door opens/closes then the I/O Linc is not communicating with the PLM. This could be caused by ...

 

a general comm issue

the I/O Linc link database lost its link records

the PLM lost its link records.

 

I would do a Restore Device on the I/O Linc first. If that does not resolve the issue then do a File | Restore Modem (PLM). If that does not resolve the issue something has happened with comm between the I/O Linc and the PLM.
