rob2k77 Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 Just got the Isy994i pro w\powerlic modem and some hidden door sensors Can someone PLEASE point me to a link that can tell me how to make it do anything. anything at all. I can connect to the unit. When I select the link devices, the light on the powermodem starts flashing. Finished and nothing. thank you. Please, if your just going to reply and tell me to use the search. Please do not reply. I've been using the search and everything I can find for a few hours.
LeeG Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 Use Link Management | New INSTEON Device. Enter the Insteon address of a hidden door sensor, Name of your choice, and use Auto Discover. BEFORE clicking Ok put the door sensor into linking mode, then click Ok. Insure the door sensor is near the Dual Band PLM.
MWareman Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 ...assuming of course it is a dual band PLM. I believe that you can still buy single band ones, and they won't be able to work with wireless sensors without at least one other dual band device, like an access point.
LeeG Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 rob2k77 Is the PLM a 2413S or the old no longer sold 2412S PLM?
rob2k77 Posted June 6, 2014 Author Posted June 6, 2014 OMG. thank you for the help! I was going crazy. With you help I was able to get an unsupported device message. S I found that in the forums and installed a beta version. Now it sees it and it's working. Awesome, thanks again!
LeeG Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Great news. Thanks for taking the time to post back the results.
Davonavo Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 If you have the old version 2412S PLM but a 2443 Dual Band Access Point can you Add Insteon Device in close proximity to the Access Point? Follow same proceedure?
Davonavo Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Yes you can. With help from Steve at ISY, got it entered into my ISY and working. 994i ISY ver. 4.2.3, 2412 PLM, 2443 Access point. Placed sensor adjacent to Access Point and followed instructions here. Used HDS device type, bottom of list on New Insteon Device Menu. Saved $80.00, cost of new Dual Band PLM.
