k5map Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 I want to write a program to turn on some of my interior lights when the weather lowers the ambient light (i.e. raining, very cloudy, etc). Since I have a INSTEON motion sensor on the outside near my back door, along with the schedule I believe using the Dusk Dawn value of sensor should provide me with the information to determine when to turn On/Off the lights. Am I missing something? Is the Dusk Dawn value reliable?
LeeG Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 The Dusk/Dawn node sends an On/Off state. The condition must exist for 3.5 minutes before the Dusk/Dawn node turns On/Off so that passing traffic for example does not affect the node state. It is accurate for the function it provides.
