edokid Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 I always access it while on my local network at http://isy.universal-devices.com/99i however 2 problems: 1) If I'm not at home and I VPN into my house, that link never works even though my active directory domain controller is controlling the VPN, and when on the VPN every other program and application acts like I'm at home. 2) My DSL modem is fried, can't get a new one for a few days so I have zero Internet until then, so accessing that URL above doesn't work at all. I'm tethered on my phone right now, so how would I access the admin page without Internet access, as accessing it by IP just goes to the web interface. Thanks!
Mike Ippolito Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 If using windows just type //ISY in your browser and you'll get the web interface, for admin just use //ISY/admin. Alternatively you can use http://ip/admin.
ravedog Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 How can you vpn into your house without an Internet connection Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
edokid Posted September 29, 2014 Author Posted September 29, 2014 Got it thanks had to do ip:port/admin. Accessing http://ISY would never work as there's no entry in DNS pointing to the ISY since no need. Also I'm talking about in general with the VPN not now.
Davonavo Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 I guess this a good time to ask about the possibility of accessing my admin console, or ISY, over the home network from devices that do not run Windows. Such as my Kindle Fire tablet, and others. I realize that ISY has certain parameters required for access, or that's just the way it's built. This has been addressed before, but I seem to recall reading that the possibility was being considered. Some of us out here are not as technically proficient as others, and don't understand a lot of the terms used. If this is in the works, I'd like to hear about it.
stusviews Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 Any device that has access to a web browser can interact with the ISY HTML interface, but Java is required for the Administrative Console. Windows is not required.
