UNIVERSAL DEVICES ISY994IZW

Would I be able to use the Zigbee unit in my ISY994 and put it in this unit and have both Z-Wave and Zigbee from one unit?

The ISY supports either Z-wave or Zigbee, but not both at the same time.

The information on the Smarthome site says it comes with Z-Wave and that you could add the ZigBee to it.

But that requires removing the ZWave card. As already noted there is one slot for an additional protocol (besides Insteon), either ZigBee or ZWave, but not both.

How can I add zigbee support ? Do you sell an expansion kit ? (Similar to z-wave)?

Check the descriptions of  the zigbee devices it supports. Only some devices are supported.

Bob,

I know this isn't what you specifically ask for. But, it was noted by UDI in the next 5.XX firmware release that if you had two ISY Series Controllers with the network module. Both of them could communicate with one another so one unit would have Zigbee while the other had Z-wave.

Its more hardware cost up front but this does provide a path for having both protocols in a single home.
