flynifr Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 I have a small Insteon setup in my home including about a dozen switchlincs, a few appliancelincs, 2 access points, and 2 motion sensors. None of my devices including the PLM are dual band but the motion sensors are linked through the access points. I am trying to install a leak sensor but without any luck. When I try linking be entering the address, and device type I get an error 9 "cannot determine link table". When I use address and auto discover I get "cannot determine device type" Error -2. Teken Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Bad COM's, bring the sensor to the AP and press and hold the linking button in the sensor till it flashes. Use the ISY to enroll the sensor while entering the address. Encrypted By: Phoenix Security Solutions
flynifr Posted November 24, 2014 Author Posted November 24, 2014 I am on 4.2.18 on the ISY and software. Everything else in my network is working fine. I do have an old PLM however, probably 4 years or more. Could that be the problem. I have motion sensors working so I doubt it.
LeeG Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Is the PLM a 2412 (no RF capability) or a 2413 which does have RF. From the trace it looks like the PLM is a 2412. It took three attempts before the Leak Sensor responded. The motion sensor is likely talking through one of the access points.
