paulw Posted November 27, 2014 Share Posted November 27, 2014 Have had this one for several years and on occasion would lose communication with several or all devices. Usually a modem restore would get it going again, sometimes for months, recently for a day or so. Replaced it with a 2413S and all is well. However, after reading about the capacitor issues with the 2413 I thought I would take the 2412 apart before trashing it thinking I may find issues due to the additional heat in the 2412. To my surprise I did find a capacitor issue, but a bit different. The C1 positive lead was never soldered to the board, see attached photo. For kicks and giggles, going to solder it and see if it resolves the issues. Also will be replacing the capacitors in the 2413. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Brian H Posted November 28, 2014 Share Posted November 28, 2014 There is a thread here on capacitor replacement. If you look at the white stickers on the back. For the hardware revision number.
