georgeinva2004 Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 Hi, I just got my ISY994i ZW/PLM combo and have successfully got it working with my Insteon devices. Now I'm trying to "include" a Linear PD300z-2 Z-Wave dimmer into the mix and am totally stumped. I tried the obvious "Add/Include Z-Wave device" under the Z-Wave menu. After some internet searching I saw that it's possible that the Zwave device itself may not have had it's HouseID cleared after factory testing, so I tried the "Remove/Exclude Zwave" device under the Z-Wave menu, and then tried adding it again. Nothing seems to work. The ISY and the Z-Wave devices are about 8 feet from each other, so I don't think I have an RF problem. The device can manually control a lamp by pushing the button, so I don't think I have a DOA Z-Wave device. My ISY is set to the internal antenna (I didn't get an external one in the box). I've tried a factory reset of the Z-Wave dongle. I tried updating the Zwave firmware (V4.55 installed) Maybe there's a way to factory reset the PD300z, but I can't seem to find any suggestions online. I'm stumped. Any help would be appreciated. Regards, -John
andyf0 Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Given it looks a lot like the GE/Jasco product try a quick double tap of the button while the ISY is in include mode. That's how my GE/Jasco modules work.
416to305 Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 For my light switches it says press On on them to include/exclude, but that never works for me, I usually have to keep pressing repeatedly on on on on and then it adds right away, or on off on off on off etc not just one time. External antenna is purchased separately which is why it wouldn't be in the box.
georgeinva2004 Posted January 17, 2015 Author Posted January 17, 2015 Okay. Made some progress. The double-tap while "Including" didn't work, but a double-tap while "excluding" worked. Then I tried the "include" again with a double tap. The Admin console then said it was retrieving info from the device, but the device is never added to the tree. I tried manually synching the dongle to the ISY, but still not seeing the device. Got part of the way there. Any more ideas?
georgeinva2004 Posted January 19, 2015 Author Posted January 19, 2015 Got my hands on a Leviton Zwave dimmer and got it to include right away. THEN, I tried the Linear and it included right away. Maybe the Linear doesn't know how to be the first device in a network. Anyway, it's working now!
416to305 Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 My Linear switches were all the first in my network Glad to hear it's working!
