Universal Devices and Vantage Point bring a turnkey home automation platform to ISP’s and Utilities

Providing “Remote Assistant” a complete solution to retain and attract customers for service providers

February 2, 2015 Encino, CA and Mitchell, SD – Universal Devices, an industry leader in energy management and automation devices, today announced a partnership with Vantage Point Solutions to bring “Remote Assistant”, a home automation portal to Independent Service Providers (ISP’s) and Utilities.

Providing an industry first platform of security and automation, the Remote Assistant takes full advantage of the ISY platform’s autonomy, with the convenience of a web-based interface. “Vantage Point uses the full capabilities of the ISY to provide a secure and seamless experience for customers that still allows events and schedules to run in the event of Internet disruption” said Mike Ippolito, Chief Product Officer of Universal Devices. Remote Assistant uses an OEM version of the powerful ISY994 series controller with Z-Wave to support a multitude of devices for plug and play usability.

Remote Assistant is a cloud-connected service that enables end users to control their Z-Wave devices via a web interface or their smartphone.  “The Remote Assistant customer portal provides a sophisticated and intuitive user interface that unlocks the potential of home automation” said Nathan Weber, Vice President of Engineering of Vantage Point Solutions.  He added, “By allowing broadband providers and utilities to white-label this solution, Remote Assistant enables these companies to leverage the power of their existing brand when offering new home automation services.”

Vantage Point, based in Mitchell SD, is the leader in Engineering and Consulting services for Broadband Service Providers and Utilities. Universal Devices based in Encino, CA produces a variety of automation and energy management devices for Home, Business, and Industry.

Remote Assistant demonstrations and private meetings are available at DistribuTECH Feb 3-5, San Diego in the Universal Devices OpenADR Alliance booth #3811.  Contact Nathan Weber Nathan.Weber@vantagepnt.com or Mike Ippolito mike@universal-devices.com for more information.

Awesome, sounds like a great partnership.

Does the OEM have to code up the portal (because I am sure they want something that looks nice for the iGeneration and it might be custom to their OEM implementation) or did you create a new portal?

If you created new portal can we get it to?
