I happen to have a Menards ~ 3 mi away. I really try not to go there more than once a week. I can assure you that the "rebate" money is "real money" as you referred to it. When I use a Menards rebate check, I most assuredly use less "real money" from my wallet. If you don’t have a Menards within easy driving range, I can understand where a In Store Credit might not be too appealing. Perhaps that’s what you intended by your statement?

A standard rebate typically infers to receiving cash back that can be used on anything. The most persistent trend these days is to lock in the rebate to the store / vendor. If you don't frequent or use said vendor for anything than its a loss over all.

Peabods Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 I have one of the two story Menards right down the road from me as well, and it has a large Insteon section in it. I am also not a fan of the in-store rebate program, although for me it is fine since i do the majority of my building materials shopping there as well. They do put them on regular sale as well, you just have to keep your eyes on the ads. I buy from them just so i can easily replace the single 2-wire dimmer i have that will inevitably die on me...I've went thru five of them so far and Menards has exchanged every one of them with no questions asked!

No one available to talk, but the store is organized and laid out well. It was easy to find it and another item I needed. I like picking insteon items up like other hw items. I'll be back.
