nasa01 Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Hi,I have a z-wave MIMOLITE device that I am attempting to have detect doorbell presses. The mimolite is wired in parallel with the doorbell. I have thedevice included in my network and it created the following devices: Binary Sensor (it toggles on & off with no input from me) Binary Switch (it does the toggling thing too) Power Management (shows 2053) Multilevel Sensor (mostly shows 0.00, but sometimes switches to a 4-digit value like 4800.00) Pulse Meter (REALLY large number) Now, I would be set if the Binary Sensor just stayed one value - but that's not the case. Does anyone know much more about the mimolite device and how to set it up? Thanks,
Mike Ippolito Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 I just started to look at this product tonight for an integration partner, this document should help you decipher the return values. http://www.fortrezz.com/index.php/component/jdownloads/finish/4/16?Itemid=0
nasa01 Posted February 12, 2015 Author Posted February 12, 2015 Thanks for the reply Mike, If you were pointing to the Tech Appendix - I had looked at, especially the chart (ADC values vs Input Voltage). If I have read it right, that corresponds to the multlevel Sensor, which has a range of 0-4095. As noted earlier, it was showing 2053 most of the time -- with some times showing 0.00. This is where I am having trouble making heads or tails out of it. Anyways, keep me posted on how your testing goes.
G W Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 The door bell runs in AC and the sensor is looking for a change in a binary change which would be DC. Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk
nasa01 Posted February 12, 2015 Author Posted February 12, 2015 Garyfunk, Thanks... Not sure how I missed that. Now wondering how others were doing said project.
G W Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 I'm wondering if you can still get it to work. The voltage across the switch should drop to zero so you still may be able to trigger on that. Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk
nasa01 Posted February 12, 2015 Author Posted February 12, 2015 I got the following from support when I asked about AC... "If you only have AC - open the MIMOlite box, add a 4 diode Bridge + a big capacitor on the output... than conect to + and - at the conector... and you do not need the power adapter, it is small and easy to build..."
