Togglelinc issue.

]I've installed a Togglelinc (2466DI V6.0) to control some outside patio lights.   IT doesn't seem to want to complete the set up and the green icon indicating that I need to write updates to the device won't go away.  I've attached a screen shot of the Event Viewer.   Any ideas what's wrong?   It is in a box with 3 other switches which do go to different circuit brakers on the main panel.

This sure strikes me as a communication problem. Have you taken the routine steps to ensure you have communications across legs of your electrical system and that your plm is on a good circuit without lots of other gadgets, computer stuff, ups, Surge supressors....?

Yes.  I have a fairly large setup with over 60 devices and at least 20 dual band throughout the house.  This seems to be the only one that's giving me trouble.   I'm GUESSING it may be bad.   I previously had it on a chandelier with 8 LED lights and it was often flickering.   I thought that it might be the LEDs causing that, but now that I've moved it to the other circuit, I'm leaning more towards a faulty switch.    Was hoping that the error report might give someone a specific clue.   (I still have trouble figuring them out!)

I am not well versed in the messaging.

I do see the command sent to the PLM.

The PLM sending an ACK back to verify it was a valid command.

I only see one SRX Standard Insteon message ever being received back from the ToggleLinc.

The ISY sent an Extended command three times to write a link record.  The ToggleLinc failed to respond to any of the three command attempts.  This usually means a comm issue.   With a history of using the ToggleLinc to power LEDs it could mean an issue with the device itself.  Put the ToggleLinc on an extension cord and power it at the PLM plug point.   If the commands work the device is fine and there is a comm problem.

oberkc:  Not doing LED on the new lights.   Old fashioned incandescent.    I should have mentioned that before as I know some LEDs cause issues.  The LED chandelier now works fine with a new ToggleLinc.

Great Idea LeeG.    Will give that a shot.  Thanks.  (BTW... Which wires go where on the extension cord? 3 wires and a ground with only 3 on the extension)

I use a 2-wire extension cord cut in half with the plug end going to the device being tested and receptacle end connected to the load. I also plug a lamp into the receptacle.

On a 2-wire extension cord, the side with the rib is neutral and the smooth side is line. On a 3-wire extension cord, the wires are color coded.

BTW, a ground wire is not needed for testing.
