Hi Jayson and All,

I have a Dahua DVR that I would like to access from my eKeypad pro which is running on an Ipad & Iphone. But it have not in the pre-configured library.

I tried configuring in "Custom Setup", but whenever I do and hit Save, the ekeypad pro crashes and nothing is saved.

Here are the steps I try to get my Dahua DVR working in eKeypad:

1. Start by opening eKeypad and navigating to the configuration screen.

2. Under the Device Management section select the IP Video section.
3. Choose "Add Video Device..."
4. Choose"Add Multi-Channel Server".
5. Device Name => This is the text describing the camera in eKeypad
6. Network Address =>This is the IP Address or domain name for my DVR.
7. Port Number : 37777 (I also try with port 554 and 8080)
8. Login is Required (This is the same login I use to access the web interface on the DVR)
9. Select the JPG/MJPEG/RTSP button => I tried all of them
10.Image URL => This step I'm not sure. I think I fill with incorrect Image URL
11. Channel Count : 24 (Number of channels my Dahua DVR support)

12. Channel URL. Leave this field blank.
13. Fit/Fill. Leave on default.
14. Mirror Image. Leave this toggle OFF.
15. Flip Image. Leave this toggle OFF.
16. Enable PTZ. Leave this toggle OFF.
17. Has Focus. Leave this toggle OFF.

Jayson ! Everybody ! Please help me and let me know how to configure a Dahua DVR in the ekeypad Pro when the it is not listed. I think I wrong in step 10 (Image URL)

Model of my Dahua DVR: DHI-HCVR5424L

Thank you so much for your helping !

Unfortunately I am not surprised you ran into issues. It can get very complicated to setup a camera, DVR or NVR using the custom settings. There are over 50 possible settings that may need to be entered and less error checking is performed during the save. That is the reason for the warning message! It is always best to contact us with help setting up a custom camera or DVR. We are always happy to help.

However with a Dahua DVR you do not need to use the custom setup at all. There is a Dahua DVR already present in the pre-configured drivers.

1. First make sure you are running the most recent version of eKeypad. I do not remember what version the Dahua driver first appeared but it is definitely there in versions 2.20.14 and beyond.

2. Use the pre-configured library. Select Dahua as the manufacturer. Dahua is not listed with an icon. It is in the larger list of manufacturer names beneath the icons.

3. Select DVR0404 as the model number.

4. Select the "Add This Library Server".

5. Enter the details for your DVR and press Save in the top right corner of the screen.

A few notes about the Dahua driver:

- You will not see a URL field. This information has been entered for you.

- The driver uses the RTSP port (554 by default). Port 37777 uses a proprietary Dahua protocol they do not share publicly. Port 8080 is the web interface. eKeypad does not use ports 37777 or 8080 on Dahua equipment.

- We were not aware their DVRs came in 24 channel versions. So you will only find options for 4, 8 and 16 channels today (Early Oct 2015). We will add the option for 24 channels in version 3.0.0 (Nov 2015). If you can not wait for those last 8 channels, contact support and we can walk you through the manual steps necessary to make them visible.

- The Dahua interface does not provide eKeypad with the names of the cameras defined in the DVR. By default eKeypad will give them generic names like, "Channel #1", etc. However once created you can define custom names for each channel using the DVR overview screen. This is located on the Config -> IP Video -> [Driver name] screen. Scroll down to the GUI Customizations section.

As always please contact us if you have any issues with eKeypad we will be glad to help and want to address the inevitable application issues as soon as possible. The fastest way to reach us is always the Support screen in eKeypad. It is located at the bottom of the main configuration screen. Reporting an issue from this screen includes important configuration details that allow us to help you much more quickly.
