MobiLinc Pro Stopped Working with my ISY994i

Featured Replies

Very strange, but my MobiLinc Pro suddenly stopped working yesterday.  In an attempt to find a solution, I upgraded  ISY994i firmware to 4.2.30, but that did not help.  Any ideas?

At first, MobiLinc Pro just kept crashing, so I deleted it and reinstalled it.  Now it won't even log back in and I keep getting the error “too many failed bindings”.  This is the case on all of my devices, so not specific to my iphone (affects 3 iphones, and an ipad).
I have an active account with Mobilinc (renewed about a month ago).  My ISY shows Portal Integration for Mobilinc as an active module. My ISY seems to to operating correctly, beyond this Mobilinc issue.  I have also contacted support at Mobilinc, but no answer yet.

Any help would be appreciated.

What version of iOS? Apple removed less secure certs in iOS 9. You might try updating your ISY certs to TLS 1.3 and higher bit depth.

Hi jonnyauto,

I *think* I've responded to your email from yesterday this morning. If you don't have a response from me, please let me know.

Thanks, Wes.  I was able to get back in on my iPhone, yet MobiLinc crashes when opened on all the other devices (opens, freezes, then closes).  Very strange... do I need to delete and re-install the App on all of them?

Hi Jonnyauto,

That is strange. If deleting the app and reinstalling it on your iPhone fixed the issue for you, then it looks like you'll need to do the same thing for your other iOS devices. Remember you can always copy the settings from one iOS device to another under Settings->Copy. Select "I'm Receiving" first then "I'm Sending" while both on on the same WiFi network.

off the record what happened to SiriProxy?

do you have a thread about it, is the project alive?

Apple changed the Siri protocol in iOS 7+ to thwart third party proxies with illicit intent since Siri has (or had) root privileges. The consequence is SiriProxy does not work on iOS 7 or greater.

It was fun while it lasted.

What about that other project Homebridge support for Homekit (only works with WiFi)

Have you tried that one?

I've dabbled with it, but currently I don't have time to get it working reliably. Also, it seems with every new iOS release, Apple makes a few changes to the HomeKit protocol.

In the meantime, I have an Amazon Echo.

Oh I see, so maybe all the effort with Homebidge gets destroyed with iOS 10 lol

I am getting my iPhone 7 tomorrow, seems so cool to have Homekit in Notification Center.

But Alexa just released 5 Echo Dots get 1 Free, each Echo Dot for $41.

Difficult to compete with that.

I was even thinking having an Echo Dot in my car so when I am driving I can say things like 'Alexa turn Office Lights On'

So people think there's somebody home lol.
