Chance Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Hello, This morning 4 of my KPL's went FAST ON simultaneously, AND FAST-ON'd all devices that had a scene linked to any of the extra buttons (FanLincs, SwitchLincs, LampLincs.. ect) The ISY had no idea any of these devices were on. The strange thing is, it seemed to be a group of KPLs, not all devices were affected. I have a mix of old ones, and new ones. 2 v.2C and 2 v.44 KPLs were not affected 3 v.41 and 1 v.43 KPLs were affected. Not sure if the version has anything to do with it. I've had one or two of my oldest Switchlincs (v.27) have decided to turn-on, on their own rarely over the years. This however, never had a mass "FAST ON" affect as many devices as they did, all without the ISY hearing about it. The only other thing that happened at that time was the pool pump starting, but its been following the same schedule for the last 5+ years. Any advice or information about what might case a cascading FAST ON? Regards, Chance
Teken Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Chance, Scroll down and review the ALL ON / ALL OFF thread. Lots of information and possible fix's. Ideals are peaceful - History is violent
Chance Posted October 21, 2015 Author Posted October 21, 2015 Thanks, Hidden in there was this golden nugget: http://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=INSTEON_Random_All_On_Events Packet collision, I'll change some of my housekeeping scripts to execute at staggered times. Top of the hour is always a busy time. Good to know this kind of stuff happens over this protocol. Thanks, Chance
