This is not really a 994 question, but I am planning on replacing my old 26 with a 994 soon.

Will newer devices work on the 26 or just the devices in the 'devices' dropdown in link management?  Many of those are no longer available.

Newer Insteon devices will not work on your 26 model as there are no firmware signatures indicating they exist.

No the ISY26 will not control later Insteon modules. Not sure if the I2 ones are supported. I2CS  no.

The Newer ISY99i can control more but it also can't do the latest.

So the iSY994i is needed for the latest Insteon Modules.
