3-way SwitchLinc Dimmer Question

Featured Replies

Posted

I have a 3-way light setup with 2 switchlinc dimmers.  Both of them are set to default on to 50%, and the scene is set to 50% on as well.  After I turn on either switch, the lights come on at 50%, and both switches show the light half way up, as expected.

If I hit on again, the switch that is controlling the load will go to 100%, and the lights will go to 100%, but the other switch stays at 50%.  If I hit the switch that is NOT controlling the load again after turning the scene on, the switch that is controlling the load stays at 50% and the lights stay at 50%, but the switch I pressed again goes to 100%.

Is there a way to make a second tap of either switch make both switches and the lights go to 100% without a program?  A quick double-tap (fast on) accomplishes exactly what I want, BUT, I want the same thing to happen if the lights have already been on at 50% for a while.

Thanks.

Not with a simple On press of paddle.   The device that does not go to 100% is being turned On with a Scene.   The Responder link record On Level does not change regardless of the number of On commands issued.   A fast double tap to generate a Fast On command brings the Responder to full On.

A program it will be then.  Thanks.

Using a 2nd tap (not a double tap) on a SwitchLinc dimmer that is at a preset On-level will only bring the load connect to the load wire fully on. A 2nd tap on a secondary SwitchLinc dimmer (the one without a wired load) will have no effect on the primary device's load (the load wired to the device).

I've not found a program that will accomplish that consistently. If you have one, please post it.

Program Requirements:

Virtual 3-way configuration involving two (or more) dimmers, both set to turn on the load to a % less that full on.

The load is on at any level above 0% and less that 100%.

The secondary device is tapped On (once).

The load goes to full on (100%).

The primary device already has that ability. The secondary device does not.

Added ability: Can be accomplished using the current Official Version 4+
