ISY994i/ZW and Nexia

I have 3 Trane XL624 thermostats and using ZWave have them all integrated with my ISY994i.  It is working well.  However these thermostats are firmware upgrade-able and there are new features that has been added since I got these.  Based on the documentation it seems like I need to invest in a Nexia Bridge to update the firmware in these devices.  It seems like a waste of $200 just so I can get the firmware updated.  i was wondering if there is a way to configure the ISY994i to act as the Nexia bridge if I use the Network Module?  Has anybody else thought about this?  With the Trane XL624 you get free access to manage that device in Nexia.  If you want to add additional devices you will need to pay for the Nexia account.  I am not interested in the pay option but only in the device specific services.

This is all exploratory and to see what people with much more knowledge than I think.  Is this do-able?

Does Trane offer a phone app that will directly update the firmware? Just a thought.

I have not seen a Smartphone app to control and connect to the XL624 thermostats.  The only phone access I can see is through the Nexia Web Access which requires the Nexia Bridge installed.  Now the XL824 and the XL950 may be a different story...
