gadgetfreak Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Our power went out for a few minutes on Friday night and then the generator kicked in. All was back to normal 10 minutes later. Although the ISY is on a battery backup, the whole house isn't and the switches may have been affected. Now, I have around 10 switches that will respond at the switch and even with directly controlling that one switch from the ISY but they will NOT do anything as part of a scene (neither running the scene through the ISY or via another switch in a 3-way config). I have tried rebooting the ISY, taking the switch out of, and then putting it back into, the scene. Neither worked. They properly show status when controlling the single device but do not accurately show their status when running the scene. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

It's possible that the non volatile memory in the devices got corrupted. I've had this happen on several occasions when we've had a power line glitch. Do a restore device which will rewrite the device links with the data that's stored in the ISY

Also, I noticed that I have three dual-band devices in the den. Den1 and Den2 are part of this problem and Den3 is working fine. Interestingly, Den1 is 2477DH v.39, Den2 is 2477D v.38 and Den3 is 2477D v.41.

Interestingly, Den1 is 2477DH v.39, Den2 is 2477D v.38 and Den3 is 2477D v.41. A green flag indicates that there are pending writes to the device. Either you have a communications problem or the device may need to be factory reset in order to clean up its memory, then do a restore device.

I did a reset on them by pulling out the pin for 10 seconds and then pushing them back in for 10 seconds. However, I am still getting the green flag on my kitchen light which is a 2876SB v.39. Since it responds when I send it a command directly from the ISY, I can't believe it is dead. But it has the green flag and won't respond to any scenes for which it is a part of. Any other advice? stusviews Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Info only: A factory reset for a dual-band SwitchLinc require pulling the air gap for 10 seconds and then pushing it all the way in until the beep stops.

I just kept it pressed in for another 10 seconds just to "make sure" it was reset. And, again, it seems to have worked for my dual-band devices but I am getting serious failures on my older switches. Thx for everything. Glad to hear you're mostly up and running again. The 2876SB has been discontinued. If you can't resurrect it then It's probably time to replace it, especially if it's a single band device. Edited January 18, 2016 by Techman
Brian H Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 (edited) The 2876SB may not have the Air Gap Switch. To do a factory reset or power cycle reset. With it Off and the Status LED On. If you pull the Set Button out and the LED does not go Off. You have an earlier one with no Air Gap Switch. You may want to try turning Off the breaker to the 2876SB and then wait maybe ten seconds and then turn the breaker back On. For a power cycle reset. For a Factory Reset. Try holding the top paddle for 10 seconds. The Status LED should start blinking. Then release. Tap the set button all the way in then release it. Then hold the set button all the way in for 10 seconds then release. Edited January 18, 2016 by Brian H
