Is this possible: "Alexa, what is the status of Front Door Open?" Will it return "True" if ? Any other ways of getting status from a device?

I'm not sure if your intent is to use the ISY skill or ISY connected home.

Connected home cannot return the status of a device, so you have to use the skill.

The correct syntax for a skill has to be:

Alexa, tell izzy to...

Alexa, ask izzy to...

Alexa, ask izzy about...

To get the status of a door, you can say:

Alexa, tell izzy to get the status of <door>

A variation for locks that you can use is:

Alexa ask izzy if <door> is locked

I encourage you to use "door" instead of front door. For some reason, front should be accepted, but alexa has trouble with it, it is not always passed to the skill.

Benoit, thanks for the tip about the front door. "Main door lock" works, "main door deadbolt" does not. Alexa heard, "main door dead bolt," so I renamed the lock using both words. Alexa heard correctly, but  still couldn't find the device.

There's a problem with the status of the Insteon thermostat (2441TH). I'm concerned about the last value in this reply, "living room thermostat temperature is 75.50It is set to heat at 152 degrees." The result is replicable.

There's a fix coming this week to address the setpoint being doubled.

Benoit thank you.

I guess this is the perfect use for the ISY Skill, as opposed to the Connected Home integration.

"Alexa, tell izzy to set the living room thermostat to  heating 77º," then "tell izzy to set the living room thermostat to 76º" (heating not said). The results are below. Note also that izzy has trouble finding the thermostat.

If I simply ask for the status, izzy can find the thermostat.
