Error When Connecting

I am setting up a second ISY / ELK at my parents' house and I cannot get their ELK connected to the ISY.  I have checked and all settings match my system / the wiki and I get this error:

Thu 03/03/2016 08:07:35 PM : Elk Security System configuration information incomplete or invalid
Thu 03/03/2016 08:07:35 PM : [ELK 0 0 0] (157/0/0)
Thu 03/03/2016 08:07:35 PM : [ELK 0 0 0] (156/0/0)
Thu 03/03/2016 08:07:35 PM : Elk Security System not started

The system is running 5.0.2 (as is my working system).

Any ideas?

Hi stmrocket ,

Can you please attach a screenshot of Admin Console ELK configuration (remove the access code before posting)?

With kind regards,

Michel

Here is a screenshot of my configuration minus the access code (which is a valid code to arm, disarm, and bypass the system).  The console did not save what I had entered last night so I entered the same values from scratch and got the same error as shown.

Hi stmrocket,

Thank you. Now, please try ANY 4 or 6 digit access codes and retry.

With kind regards,

Michel

That was the result of a valid code, are you wanting me to try a different valid code?

That's correct. The code IS there, is a valid 4 digit code, and is returning those errors. I am redacting the code before posting the pictures as noted on your request but I can assure you that it is there when I actually click save.

Stupid question but port 2101 is checked in the M1XEP and there is no username and passwords?

Not stupid at all.  2101 is checked and I do not have any username/password pairs saves in the M1XEP.  I compared accounts and the config for this system matches the config for my working system...

Problem resolved!!  This Installation is located at a remote site and I have been attempting to create the connections using the Admin Console via Portal.  Since I remoted in to verify connectivity, I went ahead and fired up the console on a machine on site.  The connection went through and I was able to refresh the topology.

I haven't seen this mentioned in the documentation so maybe its a bug?

Thank you!

Not sure I follow what you think the bug is but glad you got it all worked out.

Connecting to an Elk panel works if you are running Admin Console on the LAN with the ISY but does not work if you are running Admin Console via Portal.  It's either a bug or an undocumented limitation...

The Portal is a secure connection to ISY so likely rejects the unsecure port?

That could be the case. If it is trying to make connections from the console versus from the ISY, then this would be an issue. I was under the impression that whatever I entered in admin console was being executed on the ISY which would be local to the alarm.

Hi stmrocket,

I very much doubt that would be the issue: connecting to ISY remotely through the portal is like connecting to ISY locally. If you don't mind, please send your error log to support@universal-devices.com.

With kind regards,

Michel

I thought that was how Portal worked which is why I doubted it was the issue as well. I had always understood that running the admin console through portal should make no difference.

I'll pull the log and email it to you this evening.
